Chapter 52- Solace

Accidentally Met Mr. Billionaire ✔️ [Under Editing]

Chase' POV

I rushed Olive to the hospital in my car along with Sameer who was checking her pulse and examining her.

He said that her breathing sounds a little raspy and heartbeat was slow. I don't know what that meant but it didn't sound good.

The doctors quickly rushed Olive to the operation room and Sameer asked to assist and they agreed.

I had been sitting outside the operation room for almost an hour now. Sameer came out many times telling me to stay calm.

Suddenly the door opened revealing Sameer and I quickly stood up. "How is she?"

"She lost a lot of blood and has a concussion. We can't say anything at this point. Have faith Chase, she'll be fine," he replied and I slowly sat back down.

I started thinking about how we met and after that everything went perfectly. Except for the fact that we had fights and were separated. But, we have overcome every obstacle that came in our way.

This might be the last one that we have to face.

We can do it.

I buried my face in my palms and sighed. Slowly, I felt the bench moving as Rhea sat down next to me.

"How is she?" She asked, concerned about Olive.

I sighed and looked at her. "Sameer said that they don't know anything yet."

"Are you okay?"

She gave me a soft smile and placed her hand on my shoulder. I was on the verge of breaking down.

The love of my life has went through so much and I'm not there to comfort her.

This happened because of me.

I could've asked her sooner and we would've been off to Paris right now. But, Richard messed everything up.

"No," was all I could say.

She adjusted herself in the seat. "She will be fine Chase. She has to," she spoke and I looked at her as she continued. "You both have been through enough and now it's just too much. You guys have to be together."

She looked at the operation room and sighed. "Olive has always tortured herself for everything bad happening to her. She has been broken for a long time... but with you it's different. You healed her. You made her realize the meaning of live once again. She might not say it but you're everything for her."

"Thank you Rhea," I whispered and she nodded.

"Coffee?"

I nodded and Rhea left to get some coffee for herself and I. Just then I saw Zachery walking in the hallway and he stood across me.

"I'm sorry man," he started and sighed.

"It's okay," I replied back and he closed his eyes shut.

"I could've prevented this from happening but then again destiny isn't easy to run from," he replied. "I know she will be fine. She has to."

"She will be," I confidently replied.

"And chase," he started and I turned to him. "That girl inside is like my little sister. Please don't ever hurt her," he replied, almost torn apart.

"You have nothing to worry about Zachery."

He smiled and sat down in one of the benches across me. Suddenly Max, Krystle and Jeremy came.

"How is she?"

"They can't say anything right now," I replied and Jeremy sat down next to me. "So What is this Amanda thing bro?"

"I found out about everything one night when she was talking to Richard on the phone. He is blackmailing her. Her father was kidnapped by him and so she agreed to do anything."

I sighed and placed my hand on his shoulder. "I meant what's going on between you two," I said and his face quickly turned red and I smiled. "I'm happy for you two."

He smiled and hugged me. "Thank you Chase. I should go to her, she doesn't have anyone."

"Yeah, go."

Suddenly Sameer and another doctor came out and I rushed to her. "How is she?" I asked and the doctor sighed.

"Who, the patient or the baby?" The doctor asked.

"My Olive," I replied all too quickly.

Olive is my top priority right now not our baby. I couldn't let anything happen to Olive.

"She has slipped into coma but she didn't get a brain hemorrhage, thankfully. There are some chances for her survival if she wakes up in couple of days. The baby is also stressing her body and we are trying hard to save them both," the doctor said and Sameer gave me a soft smile.

"Can I- can I see her?" I asked and he nodded his head sideways and I sighed.

I want to see Olive.

Why does this always happen to us? We haven't had a good month. Someone or something always ruins it for us.

I just want my happily ever after with Olive. Please god, let me have it.

"Go freshen up Chase, I'll update you," Rhea suggested.

I didn't. I didn't want to leave Olive.

"I'll stay, it's fine," I replied and Rhea stood up and walked towards me.

"Chase you haven't slept properly in days. Just go home and I will update you about her," Rhea requested and after thinking about it, I nodded slowly.

I started walking away from the operation room.

"Wait, before you go," the doctor started and I stopped in my tracks. "I need you to make a decision. If we are in surgery and we can only save one of them, who do you want to save?"

I almost forgot what to think at this point. I have to choose between Olive and Our baby? I couldn't. Olive wants this baby but I can't have the baby without Olive.

I sighed. "Save Olive."

Sameer smiled at me before they both went inside the operation room again.

___

Rhea called me to the hospital with some good news. Apparently Olive woke up and calling for me.

I rushed as fast as I could to the hospital.

I reached her room and stood at the door, looked at her who was laughing at something Rhea said and Sameer was monitoring her.

Her eyes quickly shot up towards and softened. I just stared at her and sighed in relief. She was fine. Thank you god.

I walked towards her and Rhea moved from the seat so I sat down. She had a huge smile glued onto her face which I couldn't even beat.

"You're okay," I whispered and she nodded in return.

"I'm not leaving you that fast Mr. Chase Chivalry," she whispered back.

I went closer to her to kiss her but she looked away. I frowned and she smiled. "Sorry, I have hospital breath. Not something anyone wants to kiss, trust me."

I chuckled and kissed her either way. "I want to."

She chuckled and Rhea cleared her throat. Suddenly couple of doctors and interns walked in and we moved apart but I held onto her hand.

"Montgomery," the girl doctor said and olive smiled.

"Dr. Vernon," she replied and one of the interns looked at me and then back at her and smirked.

"You are recovering unexpectedly which is a good thing but it's just too unexpected. We will monitor you for a week and then let you off," Dr. Vernon said and Olive nodded.

"By the way Olive, I have a surprise for you," I said and she quickly turned to me.

"What is it?" She asked.

"It's a surprise. If I tell you then it wouldn't be a surprise," I replied and she frowned making me smile even more.

She is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen.

"I called your dad and grandma. They said they're on their way," I said and she quickly pulled me into a hug and we stayed there for a while. I feel home with her and her hug makes me get that warm fuzzy feeling.

Suddenly I didn't feel the same force she always hugs me with. Usually, her hugs are tight and so are mine but she loosened up a bit.

I felt something brush on my back and I dipped back a little with Olive's force. Suddenly the monitors started making noises and the doctors started moving around.

They pushed me back and set Olive back on the bed.

"She's in V-Fib, Code blue! Code blue," Dr. Vernon shouted and everyone in the room started moving around and panicking.

One of the doctors picked up Olive and placed a plastic sheet underneath her. "One... two... three..." one of them spoke.

"Clear," the other one spoke and stuck the defibrillator on Olive's chest which shocked her.

I couldn't see this. "No," I shouted but nobody listened to me.

"Again. One... two... three... clear," he said again and shocked her but nothing happened.

"I would like you both to go outside please," dr. Vernon almost literally threw Rhea and I outside.

She closed the door and both of us looked through the door as they tried to wake Olive up again.

She didn't wake up.

I could hear through the door as they tried everything they possibly could but Olive didn't wake up.

"Stop," one of them spoke as everyone took their hands off her. "There's nothing we can do about this. Someone please call it."

My heart started hurting and my vision started to blur. No, Olive can't leave me.

There was silence. Pin drop silence. Nobody uttered a single word.

"Time of death," the previous doctor started but Sameer formed a fist and hit Olive's chest where her heart was and the monitor started beeping again.

I sighed in relief and Sameer smiled at me.

I quickly ran inside the room and sat down next to Olive's bed while she started breathing again.

Dr. Vernon placed the ventilator on and placed an oxygen mask on her. She started breathing slowly and I sighed.

I extended my arm to take her hand in mine but I remembered how she almost died in my arms. I am so scared to even touch her now.

I pulled my hand back and just sat there, waiting for her to wake up.

"I have given her some medications so she will be knocked out for couple of hours," dr. Vernon told me and I nodded.

She faced Sameer and said, "page me whenever she wakes up."

All the doctors and interns walked out of the room leaving Rhea, Sameer, Olive and I.

"Thank you so much Sameer," I said and hugged Sameer as he patted my back.

"It's all good bro. I couldn't just watch them call time of death like that. Olive has been an important part of Rhea's life who is a huge part of my life. Olive would be proud of me," he chuckled and we laughed along with him.

"She will wake up right?" I asked and he nodded.

"She started breathing again so she should. Stay with her so she can tell you when she needs something."

"I can't believe that she died in my arms. I'm so afraid to touch her now. I'm so scared about what will happen when she wakes up. I'm so scared to leave her."

Rhea hugged me and Sameer joined. "It'll be fine Chase. She'll wake up and will be perfectly fine."

"Thank you guys."

I sat down next to her as Sameer and Rhea walked outside the room.

I slowly placed my hand on top of hers, without moving or waking her up.

___

Suddenly her hand moved and I woke up quickly. "Olive," I alerted and she just looked at me.

"I'm here," she replied and I sighed.

"Oh, you're awake," I cupped her face in my hands and she smiled.

I reached out to hug her but the remembered what happened so I pulled back. Suddenly dr. Vernon walked in and checked up on Olive.

"Now that's what I call recovery. You're recovering nice and slowly. You'll be out of this hospital in a week for sure," she said and Olive smiled.

Dr. Vernon left and Olive faced me. "I'm sorry Chase."

"For what?"

"For dragging you into this mess. You're like no match for me and I don't know how you're in my life but I'm thankful. Thank you."

"I don't know how you are with a man like me. We have went through so much together and have overcame everything. Thank you."

"I love you."

"And I love you."

I pecked her lips and she dipped her head on my chest and I slowly placed my hands around her shoulders.

This is my happy ending.

She is perfectly okay now.

I am perfectly okay now.

We are okay and together. Nothing can separate us now. Not even ourselves.

I looked outside and saw Jeremy sitting on the couch outside with Amanda and they were talking and laughing along with Rhea and Sameer. Zachery and Krystle sat down beside them and laughed too. Max sat down and laughed at something Rhea said.

I smiled to myself knowing that each one of them have been a great part of our lives.

Nothing would've been possible without them.

I smiled one last time before Olive and I fell asleep in her bed in each other's arms.
