Chapter 28- We Are Together

On the way to the office, all I could think about is Chase. I don't want him to feel hurt. I didn't tell him for a reason and I hope he understands.

I paid the taxi driver and almost ran to the office. Nobody seemed to be there except couple of people who were working there.

God knows where his office is.

"Excuse me? Where is Mr. Richard Wellington's office?" I asked the lady at the front desk.

She smiled. "I'm sorry but he's in the middle of a meeting with Mr. Chivalry. He is not to be disturbed."

"I understand but this is urgent. I have to meet Mr. Chivalry."

"I'm sorry but I can't let you go there."

"I'm his personal assistant and I'm suppose to be with him at all times." I tried to think of a way to persuade her for letting me go.

"He called for me," I lied and she sighed.

"Follow me this way," she said as I walked behind her.

We walked into the elevator and reached the 5th floor where his office was, supposedly. She walked me to the end of the hallway and we turned right from there.

These offices looked quiet smaller than before. I remember I used to come here and meet Mr. Wellington in his office when Richard and I were together.

"Here ma'am. Walk down the aisle and take the first right," she pointed towards a dark room which was apparently a hall.

"Thank you," I replied back before walking into the dark room.

She said the first right so I walked down the hall and suddenly the lights turned on. I saw a door which was the first door on the right and slowly opened it.

"Thank you," I heard Chase say before footsteps approaching me.

I quickly hid behind the door as I saw a male figure walk into the darkness and approaching me with fast pace. I decided not to hide behind the door and walked out.

Chase looked at me, terrified of seeing me in the dark. He closed his eyes with his hands and was breathing heavily.

"Don't kill me, I haven't even lived life. I want to get married and have kids," he murmured, not looking at me.

I laughed because of how childish he is sometimes. Who does he think I am? Annabelle?

"Chase," I said trying to stop laughing but I couldn't.

"How do you know my name?" He asks, peeking from his enclosed palms. "Actually forget I asked that, ghosts know everything either way. Before you kill me, can I make a last phone call?"

"Chase, it's me," I laugh and he looks at me.

"Me, who? Annabelle?" He asks and I laugh.

"No. It's Olive," I reply and he takes a minute before processing what I said. Then, he pulls me into a warm embrace and I take a step back because of how he threw himself at me.

"Thank god," he replied and I hugged him back.

"Wait, what are you doing here?" He asked as we walked out the dark hallway and into the lighted hall.

"I wanted to talk to you," I replied and he smiled at me.

Why is he smiling now?

"Olive," he starts and I look at him as he continues on. "You came all the way from the party to here, just to talk?"

"Yeah," I nod and he smiles even more than before.

"To me?" He asked and I nodded.

"Can we talk?" I asked and his smile suddenly turned into a frown.

"This sounds serious. Are you like breaking up with me?" He asked and I was taken aback.

"No!" I exclaimed and scoffed. "I wouldn't even think of it."

"Okay then you can tell me anything," Chase replied as we walked downstairs and sat in the café.

"Chase, I- I- I don't know how to say this," I groan in frustration. It's so much easier when I play it in my mind. I'm front of him, I can't seem to get words out of my mouth.

"Hey," he says, cupping my cheeks and making me face him. "It's fine, you can tell me."

"As you already know, I always hold myself back from everyone. I never let anyone get close to me especially you," I start and he looks at me, waiting patiently.

"Well that has changed now. We're together," he smiled and takes my hand in his.

"Yes, indeed it has," I reply back to him and hold onto him tightly.

"I used to do that, because-" I start but suddenly a voice called Chase' name and I froze in my spot.

"Chase," someone called out as both chase and I stood up.

The voice was so familiar to me that it almost felt like I did, 7 years ago. This deep and hoarse voice could only be Richard. I heard footsteps approaching us and chase looked at him, who was standing behind me.

"Oh thank god you haven't left. I forgot to tell you that I'm going to the same party so why don't we go together?" He asked in his usual deep voice and Chase smiled at me and then looked back at him.

My eyes were wandering aimlessly at Chase, who was looking at Richard. "Yeah sure."

Not wanting to turn around, I silently chanted that he goes away but Chase already accepted his offer of going together. Nobody will be able to stop him from seeing me now.

"And who might this young lady be?" He asked and I felt as if he was staring at me with the same dark eyes. The eyes which once saw me being ruined by him. The eyes which only saw my beauty and not heart.

Chase looked at me and slowly turned me around. All while looking down, I didn't dare to look up at Richard. I clutched onto Chase' hand tightly and slowly started to look up at Richard, who was shocked.

He looked the same except his hair were longer and he was wearing professional clothing. His eyes still held the same darkness and his lips still managed to play the smirk.

The look on his face was similar to the ones I have been getting from all the Wellingtons. The same shocked but happy look but in his case it was more of shocked but happy because he'll get to hurt me again.

I looked away from him as a smirk started to grow on his lips. "Olive?" He asked, more like replied. Supposedly, it was a shocked reaction but I know he wasn't shocked to see me here.

I looked at Chase who was quiet shocked that Richard knew me. "You two know each other?" He asked as he pointed to us and looked at me.

"Yeah, we went to high school together," I heard Richard say and Chase just stood next to me, holding onto my hand tightly. "How do you two know each other?"

I looked at him and faked a smile. "We're together and I'd like some alone time with him," I said before I dragged Chase outside with me.

I'm really sorry for the late update but school just started and everything is so hectic. Being a senior is not easy at all. I'm not even ready to apply to colleges.

Anyways, I hope you liked this chapter! It took me a while of how I wanted Richard to meet Olive while Chase is also there. As promised, I introduced Richard.
