Chapter 26- Old Relations

"Olive?" I heard a voice call my name and I abruptly sat up on the bed and saw chase sitting down at the exact same spot as he was before I fell asleep and his hand in mine.

"Chase, what are you doing here?" I asked, looking around.

"You said not to leave you, before falling asleep."

"You have been siting here since I fell asleep?"

"Yeah, Rhea just came to tell us that the meeting starts in fifteen minutes."

"Oh, you didn't have to sit here. I'll get ready," I said, letting go of his hand and towards the bathroom to wash my face.

"Can I go then?" He asked, standing near the bathroom door.

"Yeah, yeah," I told him as I splashed water on my face.

He left and I heard door shut behind him. I felt a little disgusted so I decided to brush my teeth quickly as I just woke up from a nap.

I looked up at myself in the mirror. Everything has changed but I haven't. I still haven't forgotten everything that happened to me.

Maybe I deserved what Richard did to me. Maybe because of who I was before.

"Olive," I heard Rhea shout as she barged into the restroom while I was changing.

"Damn women, there is something called knocking. You should try it," I replied back, zipping the back of my dress.

"I can't. I have to tell you something," she said, breathlessly.

"I think it can wait for five minutes," I replied back, pulling my hair into a ponytail.

"No, it can't," she urgently said. "Guess what?"

"What?" I asked, interested in what she had to say because she sounded serious. I hope it's not about some hot guy she wants me to see because that's totally not as urgent as she sounds.

"I saw Edward Wellington talking to Mr. chivalry along with another guy. I didn't want to eavesdrop but I overheard them talking something about giving you a raise," she replied, clapping her hands excitedly.

Edward and some other guy? What if it's Richard? I have to talk to Chase before Richard gets to him.

I rushed out the bathroom and grabbed my bag. "What happened?"

"I'll tell you later but I have to see Chase," I answered and she stopped me.

"You won't be able to. He's meeting Edward Wellington right now with Mr. Chivalry."

I sighed. "No, I have to meet him before Richard tells him any nonsense," I muttered.

"Huh? What?" Rhea asked.

"Nothing. I have to see chase. It's urgent," I replied back, leaving the room.

He's smiling. That's normal.

Does Edward know that I'm here? He probably does because Mr. Chivalry sent our list. I have to talk to Edward too. He would be probably confused.

Should I just walk in? No. That'll be awkward and I don't want all the attention. Maybe I should wait till they come out.

I went over to the counter and asked for a black coffee. After sitting for a while, my black coffee was delivered to me.

"Olive?" I heard someone behind me.

I turned around to find a couple standing behind me. They looked a bit familiar. Suddenly I realized that it was Uncle Max standing next to Aunt Jenny. Their eyes wandered all over me and they were watery.

"Uncle Max, Aunt Jenny?" I muttered, standing up and walking towards them.

They pulled me into a hug and Aunt Jenny kissed my forehead. "Oh, look at my little angel, you have grown to be a beautiful women."

"I almost didn't recognize you both."

"Neither did we," Uncle Max spoke, looking at Aunt Jenny and then me. "I walked in and saw you sitting down here alone. I didn't realize it was you until Jenny told me."

I smiled while Aunt Jenny held onto my hand. "You have changed so much, Olive."

"A fresh start does that to you," I replied back.

"For how long are you staying? Also, you don't have to pay for the room, I got you covered," uncle max asked.

"I'm here for a business deal. So, not here for long but the office got all the expenses covered," I smiled at him.

"Oh, I have missed your smile. It always brightened up my day," Aunt Jenny said, cupping my chin.

"So, how is everything? Where is Maddy and Ethan?" I asked.

"Everything is going great. Maddy and Ethan are quiet busy but they are coming here tonight at the party."

As happy as I am to hear about them, I'm not ready to face them. Yeah, I missed them a lot since last 7 years but they must've changed too. Maybe Richard told them bad things about me and now they probably hate me.

"That's amazing."

"You should attend the birthday party. It's Mark's birthday and everybody is coming," uncle Max suggested.

"I- uh- I don't know if that's a good idea," I hesitated.

This means that Mr and Mrs. Wellington will be there too along with Richard. Almost the whole family will be there. After what happened, I don't think I can face Mr and Mrs. Wellington

"Why not? They miss you so much," Aunt Jenny continued. "When you broke up with Richard, you totally forgot us."

"I missed you all a lot but I didn't want to come back here. There are a lot of memories that I have tried hard to forget. I can never forget you guys, I missed you guys."

"Well, then you are coming," uncle max said. "It's at the royal palace, like old times."

"Can I bring someone with me?" I asked and he furrowed his eyebrows. "His name is chase. The one who is talking to Edward in the room right now."

"Sure. You know how happy will Mark and Anna will be?" They excitedly replied. "There won't be any boundary for their happiness."

I saw chase leave the room and went to the elevator. While, Edward was sitting in the room on his chair and working on some files.

"I have to go now but it was amazing seeing you guys. I'll see you tonight then," I said, hugging them and then went to the room.

As I entered, Edward didn't notice but when I knocked, his head shot up. There was a slight amusement in his eyes and he abruptly stood up from his chair.

"Olive?" He muttered. "Is that you?"

"Yup, the one and only."

He walked towards me and hugged me and we broke our hug after couple of seconds. He is Richard's older brother and was friends with Cherry.

"You- you look-" he started, looking at me with amused face.

"Different?" I asked and he nodded. "I'm not 19 anymore Eddie, obviously I'll look different."

"It's not different. It's more like, it's not you."

I remember how I used to be before. A carefree and happy girl who now turned quiet. Back then I hated bangs but now I have them. I used to dress up but now all I wear are dark clothes.

Maybe it happened for good. It was a horrible experience but it shaped me into who I am today. If it wouldn't have happened then I probably wouldn't have met Chase.

"A bad breakup can tighten those loose ends, can't it?" I muttered and he looked down.

"How are you here?" He asked, changing the topic.

"I'm with Mr. Chivalry, I used to work for him but now I work for his son. He was just talking to you," I replied back.

"He's an amazing guy," he said, smiling.

"He is," I muttered and thought about how silly and amazing Chase is.

"Mom and dad miss you," he spoke, softly.

"I talked to Uncle Max just now. He told me."

"So, are you coming to the party?" He asked.

"Yeah," I replied back.

"Alone?"

"No, with Chase," I replied back and I turned to leave. "It was nice seeing you."

I know you guys are confused about Richard but he will be introduced in next chapter. You'll know almost everything about him. He had a past with Olive and those details will be revealed soon.

Chase is so cute though. I wish there was a real Chase. Wattpad boys can never be found in real life.

Because I didn't update in a long time, I updated two chapter in two days. Are you proud of me yet?
