Chapter 2336: Escape After Committing Murder

On the second night of Tan Jing’s stay at home, Tan Bo finally could not stand it anymore. He looked at Tan Jing furiously and said, “How long are you going to stay at home! Be careful that you won’t be able to get the task done before you get captured again!”

“Why are you so anxious? Oh… are you afraid of getting in trouble for harboring me? Don’t worry, I’ll leave on my own when the time is up. I won’t cause any trouble for any of you.” Tan Jing continued eating after saying that.

That night, she changed her clothes and headed out. She got into the man’s car. As soon as she sat inside, the man said impatiently, “You’re finally going to take action.”

“Don’t tell me the Huang family has given you another mission?” Tan Jing asked.

“You want to meet the Huang family members? Why? What tricks do you have up your sleeve this time?” the man asked.

“I just feel that the Huang family’s offer is not satisfactory and still not good enough. I want to negotiate with them. If you are nice to me, perhaps I can also gain some benefits for you,” Tan Jing said.

This was a valid reason and her proposal was attractive enough to him. After thinking for a long time, the man started driving. However, he did not head towards the capital’s city center, but towards a village at the edge of the capital’s boundary.

Xia Wen’s men followed closely behind, not daring to relax for even a moment.

The place was really very far away and the drive took two hours. The man yawned wearily and said, “That’s it. The village in front is where they live now. We can’t drive any further. We have to walk the rest of the way in.”

She knew that it was Xia Wen who had arranged for these people to keep her under surveillance and that added to her anger. She did not know where her fighting spirit came from, but she ran faster than she had ever run in her life.

Tan Jing definitely could not outrun the two men if it came down to stamina. She turned and ran towards the river, diving into the water. In the dark night, the two men could not see where Tan Jing had disappeared to.

“Oh no!” Xiao Tian said as he looked at the river in shock.

“If Brother Xia Wen finds out about this, how are we going to explain ourselves…” Xiao Hao said helplessly.

“We can’t control how things have developed to this point. How about this, you go and get Brother Xia Wen to come over to take a look. I’ll stay and stand guard here. Perhaps she’s just hiding in the water and biding her time,” Xiao Tian said.

“Are you safe staying here alone? That woman has already killed many people!” Xiao Hao said worriedly.

Xiao Hao looked at Xiao Tian without saying anything. He immediately ran back to the car and drove off to look for Xia Wen. Xia Wen was dazed for a long time when he heard Xiao Hao’s report.

He was suddenly reminded of what Tan Jing used to be like in the past. He did not know why she had changed so much after these years. In the past, she was someone who did not even dare to slaughter a chicken, but now, she could kill a person without batting an eyelid.
