Jiang Shu held on to Deng Rui’s arm and the two of them stood at the door for a long time without entering the house. Deng Fan quickly brought his parents to the study. Inside the study, there were a few calligraphy and paintings which he bought recently, as well as the gifts which Xia He bought for his parents from Country M. This was a good chance to show all these things to them.

“Can the two of you shut up! You’re making me dizzy!” Qiao Mei said angrily to Old Madam Kong.

“Who do you think you are! I’m talking to Xia He! What right do you have to order me around!” Old Madam Kong shouted back loudly.

By now, Xia He could not take it anymore. These two could say anything about any of the Xia family members except for Qiao Mei. This was an unwritten rule in the Xia family. Qiao Mei was the person they cherished the most. None

of the family members could bear to say harsh words to her, so how could they let others insult her as they pleased?
