33. Welcome To My House
The Love Between US [BxBxB]
^Played this song, start a riot, on repeat while writing this chapter^
*Taehyung POV*
I unclipped the parachute from my back as I walked across the field to the house where the Mahu currently resided. I took my helmet off and tossed it with the parachute, knowing I had plenty more just like it in the chopper. Both items were set to self destruct in ten minutes so I could walk on land without a trace, usually spending my time in the underwater base where my husband and I resided.
I made my way towards the farmhouse without hesitation, letting my uniform unfurl and the red symbol on my chest changes to a midnight shade of black. With the turn of my watch, my gloved hands change and I'm able to stick to the side of the house without issue as I climb to the window of the nursery.
I had been here, casing the property just a few days prior when the Mahu spotted me while playing with their siblings. The Mahu's forehead glowing blue under a special lens in my contacts from the blessing the little on received on the island. Almost like a permanent invisible tattoo that they were the next prophet and their parents didn't know.
The window was child locked but I just pop it off with my sheer strength and swing into the nursery with the softest footsteps. But in the dim pink nightlight, I could tell the nursery was completely empty.
"Shit," I cursed under my breath as I ducked down and searched, hoping that maybe the children were hiding under the bed because this would make my mission that much harder.
I can cross my fingers and pray all I would like but this job was never an easy one. I stood at the Mahu's bed where their name 'Mika Ji Hakeem' had been stitched into the white comforter in a shade of purple. Their initials of M.H.J had been embroidered in their small pillow but the bed was left just slightly tousled.
The next bed over caught my attention as the name 'Nakoa Thomas' stitched in green and I crouched down, resting my hand on the name of my alter ego.
Nakoa was a name so rare and unheard of that I wondered how the Mahu's parents came across it. You wouldn't find it in a baby book that's for sure.
But a soft click disturbs my train of thought as I could feel the barrel of a gun touching the back of my hooded cloak.
"One wrong move and I will shoot you where you stand," A deep voice speaks out to me and IÂ hold my breath, slowly putting my hands up to show that I wasn't a threat.
"You have it wrong, I am not here to hurt you," I spoke to him in the calmest voice possible, but the gun was still trained on me.
"Why are you here?" The man asked and I closed my eyes, calculating my next move. I didn't want to do this, but I despise wasting my breath on explanations I didn't need to provide.
I just needed to find the child and get out.
"I am on your side," I told him, hoping he would pull his finger off the trigger.
"My side of what?" He asked and I honed in, planting my right foot.
"I am sorry," Were my final words to him as I spun my body around, moving just in time for him to only shoot my black cape as I took the gun out of his hands and disarmed the man in seconds. But I underestimated his sheer strength as he quickly let go of the gun and body slammed me to the wall, forcing me to bang my head.
I gasped before pulling my legs up and kicking him with full force. The camera in my lens scanning my body and notifying me in small red letters that this was Thomas Jackson. He must be the father of the Mahu.
I really didn't want to hurt him, but he swung first and I caught his fist in my palm. My reflexes so well trained that I could dodge a speeding bullet, this was nothing. I twisting his fist in my hand and he let out a shrill cry before grabbing my cape with his other hand and yanking it with so much brutal force that I'm swept off my feet by my neck.
I rolled into a large tower of blocks, knocking it over as I did so. I grabbed two of the wooden blocks and threw it at his face to divert his attention before getting back on my feet and kicking off the wall to knock him down with a simple kick to the head. Directing my foot so it wouldn't kill him, just knock him unconscious for a few hours while I took his child back with me to Bridgeport, where he would be safe.
The last kick has him thrown into a toddler bed and I continued with the mission. My boots making loud footsteps as I walked out of the little one's room and into the hallway where the rest of the quaint farmhouse could be seen. Why they would allow the prophet Mahu to live in a place so simplistic is beyond me.
I walked down this same hallway when my heat sensors picked up movement and I stepped foot in an abnormally large bedroom with a gigantic bed placed in the middle. But the bed was empty. There was nothing on it except for a fitted sheet and three pillows which disturbed me because normal people don't sleep with just a sheet.
Especially not in America.
That's when I heard a small whimper and immediately turned my head to find another door. It must lead to a bathroom if I'm not mistaken.
I approached the door and turned the handle only to find the door had been locked. To test the waters I slammed my fist against the door and heard a loud outcry from inside, telling me the Mahu and their siblings must be located inside.
With a single strong roundhouse kick as close to the doorknob as possible, I'm able to break in without a problem, finding four little sets of eyes peeking at me from underneath a comforter while hiding their bodies in the bathtub. Each one of them sets off my retina scanner because of the chips they received when they were born on the island and I locate Mika Ji with ease. Finding them hiding behind their siblings.
"Daddy!"
One of them cries out and I turned around just in time to catch Thomas as he shot at me, just piercing my shoulder and sending me into a wave of pain. I tried to ignore the pain but not before he grabbed me by the collar of my suit and tossed me out of the bathroom like I weighed nothing. Collapsing against the wall above their bed and falling into the California king sized mattress in pain. I just managed to roll off the bed as he tried to grab me again by my legs.
He had the gun again, standing by the bedroom door but not before I used the rest of my strength to body slam the broad muscular man out of the room, knocking the gun from his hands.
The only thing I didn't account for was the fact there was no wall on the other side of that hallway.
The force of both of us combined broke the wire banister sending the two of us crashing to the floor below us. I landed on the hardwood floor with a loud smack while my opponent got lucky enough to bounce off the couch first before hitting the floor.
Groaning and now spinning from the shock of it all, I picked myself back up, knowing in order to get to the Mahu, I would have to knock out their father for good. And as much as I hated to do it, this wouldn't be my first kill.
I wiped the blood streaming down my nose and went to reach for my utility belt just as Thomas got up from the floor on the other side of the couch.
Only to have my vision suddenly go black.
