Chapter 643 - Kicked Out!

Fu Yao was suddenly reminded of what Xia Ning said just then. That woman had deliberately humiliated her!

She ignored the fact that she had verbally attacked Xia Ning first.

Director Li frowned. “Security, please walk Fu Yao out. I didn’t invite her today and she’s not welcomed here.”

Two security officers came in at the request and walked toward Fu Yao.

Seeing this, Fu Yao turned to Director Li and complained. “I’m part of the show too. Why can’t I participate?”

“Are you suggesting that I should cross out the character you played?” Director Li said coldly.

Fu Yao was taken aback and wanted to tell him that he couldn’t do that. However, the stern look on his face silenced her.

The two security officers took her by her arms and showed her to the door.

“Get your hands off me! I’m not leaving!”

“I have a role! Why can’t I be here?!”

“You’re all on Xia Ning’s side! You don’t know what she is! She’s a heartless, evil woman!”

Fu Yao kicked and scratched, but no one wanted to help her. The security officers eventually dragged her out.

Watching Fu Yao leave, a reporter said in amazement. “That’s a first!”

“I can’t believe this. Just when I thought her reputation couldn’t get any worse.”

Xia Ning smiled. She didn’t want to start a scene, but Fu Yao gave her no choice. It was time to end this farce and Xia Ning fought back.

There was a brief moment of awkward silence, but the mood was soon back to normal.

It was nine in the evening when the publicity event and the after-party finished.

Xia Ning and Lu Chuan walked out, chatting happily, and they ran into Jin Yan and Zhao Chong on their way to the elevator.

“Miss Xia, we meet again. Are you leaving?” Zhao Chong said to Xia Ning.

Xia Ning nodded. “Mr. Zhao, are you leaving too?” She glanced at Jin Yan.

Jin Yan replied before Zhao Chong could. “Yes, we’re done for the day.” He frowned. “I heard some actress gave you trouble earlier. Are you alright?”

Xia Ning shook her head. “I’m okay. The director threw her out.”

Jin Yan nodded. “Good. Whatever happens, don’t get yourself hurt.”

“Yes.”

Zhao Chong and Lu Chuan looked from Jin Yan to Xia Ning and the two men said in unison. “You two know each other?” And by the sound of it, they realized that those two knew each other pretty well.

Xia Ning smiled but didn’t answer.

Jin Yan replied for her. “Yes.”

An idea struck Zhao Chong at that moment.

He smiled at Xia Ning. “Miss Xia, I have this show coming up...”

“If you’re trying to get me on the show, I’m sorry, Mr. Zhao, but I’m really busy.” Xia Ning cut him off with a smile.

Zhao Chong fell silent. Director Li was right. She had turned him down before he could finish talking.

Studying Lu Chuan’s good looks, Zhao Chong came up with a new plan. He turned to Lu Chuan. “I think I left something behind. Mr. Lu, do you think you can give me a hand?”

Lu Chuan saw where this was going and said yes without hesitation. An opportunity like this didn’t show up every day. He had to grab the chance while he could.

Hence, Xia Ning was left alone with Jin Yan outside the elevator.

“Didn’t you come with Zheng Ziming? Where is he?” asked Jin Yan.

Xia Ning smiled. “He’s got work to do in the afternoon, so I let him go back first.”

“Then you’ve lost your ride. Let me drive you. Where are you going?” asked Jin Yan.

Xia Ning turned to Jin Yan. “Someone’s picking me up.”

That surprised Jin Yan, but he saw light right away. He nodded. “Let me walk you out.”

Jin Yan went to check the elevator when the door opened and he sensed a cold gaze. A tall, handsome man walked out.
