Ch. 39 Invasion of Vale (Finale)

3rd Pov

Ruby, Blake, Weiss, and Velvet look on in horror at the thought at team JNPR being on the arena when it fell from the sky.  It felt like an eternity until one of them spoke again.

Weiss: Ruby you should...

When Ruby heard this she instantly started to use her semblance to run to the arena as fast as possible.

Across town

Abandoned Apartment building

Spider-Man gets up but he still a little weak form Goblin dropping a roof on his head, and stumbles a bit, so Illia goes over to him keeps him steady

Ilia: Hey take it easy, your aura is still recovering.

Spider-Man: I need to get over there, my friends could be in danger.

Illia: Don't be crazy, I am sure someone else would come along there are many hunters...

Y/n interrupts her by getting up

Spider-Man: It's my responsibility, I have to do this. But I need to ask something of you.

Illia: What.

He looks at her and speaks on a serious tone

Spider-Man: Over in the evacuation point you will find four girls, a cute silver eyed girl named Ruby, a nicely dressed and very nice, upper-classmen named Weiss, a quiet but thoughtful cat Fanus named Blake, and a gorgeous blonde hair sunflower named Yang, can you please make sure they get out of this  OK.

Illia: I...

Spider-Man: Please

Illia: Alright I'll do it.

Spider-Man: Thanks *Walks to the edge of the building*  I hope we meet under less life-threatening circumstances, third times the charm am  I right.

She smiles and he gives a thumbs up as he jumps off the building and starts web- swinging to the Colosseum.

Destroyed Amity Colosseum

Miraculously Jaune is still barely alive

Jaune: *Weak* Uh...*cough* *cough*...o...I...am...got...to...get..*inhales sharply through teeth*...AHHHH...ow...oh...my...legs....I....can't....move...my...legs...

Jaune is still trying to get up despite his broken legs but the Green Goblin flies in, steps off his glider and walks toward Jaune, smiling and clapping sarcastically.

Green Goblin: I must admit Mr. Ark, I am impressed.  That was a bold and clever move. You have earned my respect.

Jaune: *Weak* Uh...*couch*....thanks?...*cough*

He then walks closer to Jaune,

Green Goblin: Normally I would be Absolutely Livid but lucky for you I am beyond that.  And I think there is enough damaged done to get what I want, and I have somewhere else to be so I will let you off the hook, for now. *Turns and starts walking away*

Jaune breathes a sigh of relief as he walks away, but suddenly the Goblin stops and turns around and looks at Jaune with his yellow eyes, and starts walking to him again, and pulls a rebar out of a piece of debris.

Green Goblin: However, you did derail one part of my plan, and leaving you alive would set a bad example.

Jaune: *Weak/Scared* W....wait...p.....please!

Without warning, Goblin grabs the rebar with both hands and rams it through Jaunes chest.  Jaune had little time to react, and before he knew it he was starting to cough up blood.

Green Goblin: I left enough life in you for some final words if your friends hurry.

He gets back onto his glider.

Green Goblin: *flying away* Hahahahahahahahahahaha!

Ruby then runs into the arena and sees the injured Jaune.

Ruby: JAUNE!

She runs to him as quickly as possible and kneels down next to him.

Jaune: *Dying* H...hey....c...crater face.

Ruby: *Crying* It's going to be OK we are going to get you to a hospital and they are going to fix you right up.

Jaune: *Dying* I...*cough*...I...dont....think....that's....going...to happen, Ruby.

Ruby: *Crying* Y...you, can't die, w...we still need to stop the guy who caused all this!

Jaune: *Dying* Im...sorry...Ruby...*Cough*...it...looks...like...you will have to...stop...him...without...me.

Ruby: *Crying* I don't know if we can.

Jaune weakly grabs Ruby's hand

Jaune: *Dying* You..can...and you will, I know it.

Ruby: *Crying* How do you know?

Jaune: *Dying* I...have...faith...just...be strong...Ruby...please.....be...strong.

Ruby nods, then the sun starts to rise in the distance, so Jaune looks at the beautiful sight and smiles.

Jaune: *Singing* Will...the circle...be...unbroken...bye and bye...bye...and...bye...is..a better home a-waiting...in..the..sky...........in the sky.

With that last note Jaune breaths his last breath, and drifts off from this world, leaving Ruby to take in what just happened,  but then Spider-Man swings into the arena about 20 feet from Ruby.

Spider-Man: Ruby, Jaune?  Hey, are you two...

He stops and Uses the zoom function on his mask to see what has happened

Spider-Man: *Devastated* No.

His Spidey Sense goes off then his HUD says multiple threats detected, so he looks and sees multiple kinds of Grimm.

Spider-Man: Oh no.

But before he could react his Spider-Sense goes off again but this time it's telling him that Ruby is now a threat, he is confused by this at first but then sees a bright silver glow coming from Ruby, so on instinct, he takes over behind some debris.

Ruby: JAUNE!!

In a state of pure emotion, she somehow activates her silver eyes sending a flash of light across the arena, stopping all the Grimm, and sending Y/n unconscious.  Then Ruby does as well.

TWO WEEKS LATER

Norman and Ironwood are with the Vale Council in a courtroom.

Vale Council: We heard your statement Ironwood, but that doesn't change the fact, that your entire empire is built on other peoples Ideas, which you have taken credit for.

Ironwood: I see that but..

Vale Council: And where your robots were hacked to attack Vale citizens?

Ironwood: Yes.

Vale Council: And it was part of a coordinated attack orchestrated by an enemy you as well as Ozpin were aware of this threat for years and did nothing to inform the populace of this threat.

Ironwood: Yes but...

Vale Council: Thank you that will be all.

Ironwood: But...

Vale Council: THANK YOU, that will be all.

Ironwood accepts defeat and sits back down.

Vale Council: Mr. Osborn you said you have some more information that just came to light.

Norman: Yes *Grabs a folder and gives it to the council* as you will see in these pictures that my men after they repelled the Grim and the hacked Atlas Robots, they searched the School and found what appears to be a vault door, emitting some strange energy, we believe that behind it is what this Salem woman wants.

The Vale Council starts to look over the pictures as Norman Keeps talking

Norman: I believe that attacking Vale was an imitation tactic, and it won't be long before she strikes again.

Ironwood: And that's why we had them defended.

Norman: By inexperienced children who should not be fighting in the first place, like my son whom you killed.

Ironwood: That wasn't my fault.

Norman: You have shown that your way can't get it done. You can't protect the power the school is hiding!  But I can.

Vale Council: What did you have in mind?

Norman: Give me the school.

Ironwood: What!?

Norman: I can build a company building there, and we make a statement that my company is expanding to protect  the people of Vale after this tragedy, and the building will be guarded by my men who have decades of training under their belts, and for the city we set up checkpoints and have my soldiers patrol the streets at night destroying any criminal scum they find, then we do the same to Mistral, Atlas, and Vacuo  In conclusion, we keep the world safe by Uniting the four Kingdoms under one flag, the Osborn flag.

Vale Council: *Talking among themselves*

Ironwood: You are not seriously considering...

Vale Council: Very well, we will give you One year, and a blank check to put your idea into action in Vale only, and if it goes well in that year, we will see about expanding.  As for you Ironwood.

Ironwood: Yes.

Vale Council: We have received word from the Atlas council that you have been Discharged from the Army and relieved from your position as Atlas headmaster, and they already selected Wilson Fisk as your replacement.

Ironwood: Wha....I...I

Vale Council: Dismissed.

Norman: Look on the bright side James, at least you can be one of the people that you once claimed to protect, now you will see life from a different angle.

Y/n Pov

Unknown Location

I start to wake up, form sleeping for...I honestly don't know how long. But I can feel a soft bed, too soft to be any hospital bed, plus I can feel that I am wearing my suit. am I back in my bed in the dorm.  No, the school would be on lockdown that can't be it.  So where am I, I need to wake up and see so I know if I am in any real danger.

Y/n: nnnngggg...*Yawn*

As I slowly sit up and open my eyes, I look up and look around.  And it looks like I am in a log Cabin of some sort.  Yeah, this is not a place I recognize, I should...wait where is my suit!?  I was just about to go and look for it when the door opens and a middle-aged blonde man walks in, carrying a box.

???: Hey you're awake! *Puts down box*

Y/n: *Cautious* Uh, who are you.

???: Oh where are my manners, hi I am Tai-Yang Xiao-Long, I am Ruby and Yangs Father.

Y/n: Oh OH, *Sits up straight, and clears throat* Hi its nice to finally meet you, sir.

He extends his right hand but then looks at it remembering he was still in his torn up Spidey Suit.  So he quickly retracts but not wanting to be rude to his girlfriend's dad so, on instinct, he started to extend it again but stopped halfway, and freezes up.

Y/n: *Embarrassed* I, uh...

Tai: Oh it's fine I kinda already figured out, when I saw you wearing the suit.

Y/n: *Embarrassed* Yeah, sorry.

Tai: *Laughs* It's fine.  Yang has told me a lot about you, never pictured us meeting like this though.

Y/n: Me neither, so what happened how did I get here?  Where are Yang and Ruby are the alright? What happened to my armor shell.

Tai: Well you took quite a beating in the Colosseum, but you managed to get out of it with only minor injuries, but your armor *Gestures to box* didn't fare so well.

Ruby then peers behind her father and sees that Y/n is awake, upon seeing this she runs past him gets on the bed and gives him a big hug.

Tai: And I will let her explain the rest.

He exits leaving Y/n and Ruby in the guest room.

Ruby: Oh I am so glad your OK.

Y/n: Likewise Ruby, but what happened.

Ruby: You have been out for two weeks.

Y/n: Two weeks, wha...what happened?

Ruby: Well whats the last thing you remember?

Y/n: Well I made it to the arena that fell into the lake, that's where I saw you and...JAUNE! OH, GODS WHERE IS HE IS HE ALRIGHT?!

Ruby: *Sorrowful* He...he didn't make it.

Y/n: *Crying* No...no...no

He then hugs Ruby and starts crying into her shoulder, for several minutes, and Ruby lets him process Jaune's death in his own time.

Y/n: W...what about Yang, Weiss, Blake what about them?

Ruby: Well?

Timeskip

Yangs room

Yang is in front of a mirror to try on her new jacket with the right sleeve sewen up. When her door opens and Y/n in his torn up Spidey Suit enters Yang room and looks at her.

Y/n: *Relieved* Yang

She looks and sees him upon seeing each other they quickly walk toward each other, meet in the middle and kiss patiently, but eventually break away.

Y/n: I am so sorry.

Yang: For what?

Y/n: I wasn't there to...*looks at where her arm used to be*

Yang: This isn't your fault.

Y/n: But I still couldn't stop it, *walks to the window* and now the entire Kingdom is paying for it.

Yang: I take it Ruby told you?

Y/n: That Osborn now has control of the kingdom, yeah she told me.

Yang: I am sorry but, there is nothing we can do now, we lost.

Y/n: *Clenches fist* The hell we did!

Yang: What?

Y/n: Norman and Otto are still out there if we can stop them then we can put an end to all this.

Yang: Y/n...

Y/n: Oscorp was based out of Mistral if we could...

Yang: NO!

Y/n: ...What?

Yang: We lost Y/n, why can't you just accept that.

Y/n: *Shocked* W...we just can't let Norman and Otto run the city we got to fight, or who knows what kind of bad things will happen!

Yang: Sometimes bad things just Happen Y/n and we just can do anything about it.  Just stay here with me we can live out our lives here together just the two of us, and just leave everything else behind, please.

Y/n: *Emotional* I...I..I...I'm sorry this is my responsibility as Spider-Man, I have to do this, I don't know what else to say.

Yang: *Emotional* Fine, go do whatever you want.

Y/n: *Emotional* Yang, please...I

Yang: *Emotional* Just go Jaunes funeral is tomorrow we can talk more then.

Y/n: *Emotional* OK

He quietly walks out of the room, and she shuts the door behind him. Y/n proceeds to walk back to the guest room wiping away the tears falling down his face.
