Ch. 21 A Wilted Rose (15 Years Ago)

A/N: Quick note this chapter is more violent than the ones that came before, I don't think its more violent than the actual RWBY show but I thought I show but I thought I might as well let you know just in case.

Xiao-long household

3rd pov

Tai is in Ruby's nursery changing her diaper. When his wife walks in the room.

Summer: Alright honey I am about ready to head out.

Tai: You sure you're want to go, your main weapon is not gonna be ready until Sunday.

Summer: I know but, that's why I got my backup baby right here.

She pulls out a sword sniper rifle gun.

Tai: You know you did not have to make 5 different backup weapons you know.

Summer: Come on Tai, you know I just love making weapons, *smiles* and besides isn't that the things you love about me.

Tai: *chuckles* I can't deny that can I.

Summer then walks closer to him and goes in for a kiss, and after a few seconds, Ruby starts crying because he has not finished changing her diaper yet.

Summer: Oh no, it looks like our little rose pedal wants some of your attention as well.

Tai: Oh I'm sorry Ruby here let me fix that.

He then proceeds to change her diaper, and tends to put her cute little pajamas on her, and picks her up,

Summer: Awwww your so adorable my little sweetheart.

Ruby starts crying again.

Summer: Aww what's wrong, Ruby.

Tai: I think she knows that her wonderful mother is going on another mission again.

Summer: Aw that means she really loves me.

She then kisses her on the forehead and Ruby stops crying.

Summer: Don't worry sweetie mommies only going to be gone for a few days at most, I will be back before you know it, dream about me in the meantime alright?

Ruby then chuckles and very cutely tries to grab her moms face, before soon dozing off.  Tai then puts Ruby in her crib and gets her mobile going.

Summer then leans against Tai as they just stare at the small and tiny Ruby with love in their eyes.

2 Year old Yang: Mommy?

They both turn around and see a little toddler Yang standing in the doorway rubbing her eyes and holding a teddy bear.

Summer: *Kneels down to her eye level* Yes Yang?

She then runs at her mother embracing her in a hug.

2 Year old Yang: I don't want you to go please stay with me.

Summer: Oh Yang, there is nothing I would rather do than stay with you forever and ever, but this is something mommy has to do.

2 Year old Yang: But why?

Summer: Oh you will understand when you're a little older sweetie.

2 Year old Yang: *wine* OK

She puts her down.

Summer: And I need you to be strong for your little sister can you do that for me?

2 Year old Yang: Yeah I guess

Summer: Tell you what when I get back I am going to bake you and Ruby a whole tray of cookies

2 Year old Yang: *happy gasp* Really?

Summer: Yep!

2 Year old Yang: Yeah oh I love you soooooo much mommy thank you.

Summer: I love you to now you should go back to bed.

2 Year old Yang: OK goodnight mommy!

She then goes back to her room and then Tai walks Summer out to her car so she can drive to the next bullhead departing to her close to her destination.

Tai: I always hate watching you go.

Summer: Oh don't get so sad honey, I know you love it when I come back.

Tai: That I do, say after this mission do you want to take a break just the two of us.

She smiles and brings him in a deep kiss,

Summer: I would like that, bye honey,

Tai: Bye I love you!

Summer: I love you too!

She then gets in her car and drives away but not first waving goodbye at Tai, not knowing it would be the last time.

Later, on the Bullhead Summers sits deep in thought.

Summer Pov

Alright, Summer lets go over the details again.  Your destination is a village by the name of Gift to the south of the kingdom, a population of about 2,084.  They have sent in numerous reports of the Grimm problem, that has been causing them some major problems.  The town always had a reputation of being pretty well defended especially with a grim invested forest to the east of them.  So they are either having trouble with a large horde of Grimm or an especially powerful one.  Either way, I will take out as many as I can leaving my silver eyes as a last resort.  Alright, Summer, you have gone over the plan, now I should probably get some rest before I arrive.

Timeskip

3rd pov

Pilot: We have arrived in the town of Gift.

Summer looks outside the window to see that the town is a short walk away, as they could not land in the middle due to Gift not having any bullhead docks, she then nods and exits the bullhead and starts to walk into town.

Summer: You know no matter the mission I always like going to new places, the place I went for a mission was so nice I took Tai and the kids for a vacation there, I wonder what this town will be like.......

As summer reaches the town she sees full on the devastation that has befallen upon it, most of the buildings were partially or completely collapsed there was blood all over the walls and bodies were on the streets, some of them were killed by claw scratches others were beaten to death, but the rest looked as if they had their heads bitten off.

She put her hand to her mouth as she takes in the horror of what had transpired in this little town.

Summer: Oh dear gods.

Then she noticed that the door to what looks like a pup opened up lightly, and a person looked at summer, before fully opening the door.

Civilian: Hey are you the one they sent to help us.

Summer: I..I am.

He gestures her to come inside, and summer complies, as she looks around she sees the building is holding what appears to be about 40 people.

Summer: What's this, and who are you?

David: My name is David, and these people are the remaining population of Gift.

Summer's face was in shock as he said that, she just could not believe that this was all that was left of the town's population.

Summer: What happened here?

David: Come with me.

He takes her the back room to avoid scaring the survivors about what he about to tell the huntress.

David: My Dad is the one who sent the alert, what did it say exactly?

Summer: It said that your village was having a Grimm problem, for a few weeks.

David: A Grimm problem? That makes it sound so easy, we are having a Grimm problem but it is all coming from ONE Grimm!

Summer:  I see, there are many Grimm out there who possess incredible amounts of strength.  That's why people like me exist, so tell me what kind of Grimm is it?

David: ...You won't believe me if I told you.

Summer just looked at him confused why would she not believe him as a huntress she already had knowledge about all recorded Grimm on the planet.

David: How much do you know about the Infamous Grimm Parasite?

Summer: The Grimm Parasite, it's a big hominoid grim that wanders the world of Remnant and is the oldest deadliest and Smartest Grimm,  still alive today, Wait! a..are you saying that was what...

David just slowly nodded his head.

Summer: B..but nobody had ever taken a picture of it, the only thing we have to go on are visual descriptions are you sure you're not mistaking it for something else.

David: Trust me it is, I know we don't have a lot of information on it but I swear to you it's him.

Summer kept a brave face on, but on the inside, she was just realizing she was going to have to fight a Grimm that she has little to no information on because anybody who has ever seen it never came back alive, or at all, but she still had her Silver Eyes she thought and if worse comes to worse she could just use them.

Summer: Do you have any tips that I can use?

David: Just watch your back and be vigilant no matter how strong you are it can and will adapt. And don't get to close to it or it will try to eat you, I am sorry but that's all I know.

Summer: Thank you that's enough.

She then readied her weapon and then bravely walked into the forest where the Parasite Grimm was hiding, refusing to let it kill anyone else.

After a few hours of Walking in the woods Summer started to think that maybe the Grimm had moved on, and she began to relax.

???: So they sent a full-fleshed out hunter to kill us?

Summers's guard immediately went up.

Summer: You can talk!? but you're a Grimm!

???: Yes the others of our kind are like animals acting on their instincts and impulses, but we are very aware.

Summer: Then what are you exactly parasite?

???: PARASITE!?

Summer: That's what you're called right?

???: They labeled us as a parasite we are not a parasite!

Summer: Then what are you?

Then a few black tendrils come and stick to Summers back turning her around and then a big gooey black hand with very pronounced white veins, grabs her by the neck and lifting her as she did she got an extremely good look at the monster in front of her, and she wishes she hadn't.

???: WE...

???: ARE VENOM.

Summer wanted to do something but was frozen in shock in what she saw.

Venom: You have silver eyes, hm, it has been a while since we consumed one of your kind.

Summer then breaks out her freeze and kicks Venom in the jaw dislocating it which causes him to drop her and stumble back.

Venom snaps his jaw back in place and shows off his tongue at Summer, who shivers, and proceeds to fire a full clip into Venom's chest, but this only gets him had, as he lunges forward and stricks Summer with his claws, knocking a chunk of her aura.  Venom raises his right fist up and proceeds slams it at summer but before it could hit her Summer turns her weapon into a sword and cuts his hand off catching Venom off guard allowing her to uppercut him which sends him flying backward.  She then turns her sword back into a gun, as Venom gets up and looks at his where his arm used to be but he just regenerates it as if it were nothing but a minor annoyance to him.

Summer: H...how is that possible!

Venom: You don't live as long as we have just by sticking to the bare minimum.

Venom clinches his fist and swings at summer with a lot of force knocking her back.

Venom then goes over to the large tree and proceeds to rip it out of the ground and then throws it at Summer, so she quickly grabs her sword and cuts it in half sending both sides of the tree trunk in opposite directions, then Venom jumps toward her landing a punch as he lands but she uses the force of the fall to flip away from him turning her weapon back into a gun and shooting Venom with gravity rounds, this sends him back and also seems to be hurting him with every shot trying to keep her distance, but she soon runs out and is about to reload but then he unleashes several black tendrils from his chest that stick to Summer and then he brings her in for a strike and when she is close he then slashes at the face which sends her flying to the east of the forest, she is slow to get up but when she does she notices that blood is trickling down her face and that she can no longer see anything out of her right eye.  She quickly gets up and starts to cry as she realizes what happened.

Venom: One down *smiles*

Summer then proceeds to close her eye and think about all the people in her life that she loves, Tai, Yang, Ruby, Raven, Qrow, and turns to Venom and activates her Silvereye, sending a beam of light at Venom.

Venom: Oh son of a...

Summer: AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

As the light reaches Venom it sends him back as he screams in agony.

After a few minutes, Summer stops and falls to her knees out of breath, happy that this was all over.

Summer: It is *pant* at times like these *pant* I wish the band was back together.

Venom: Yeah...

Summers' eye widens as she sees Venom walking towards her before he puts a hand on a tree to rest for a bit.

Venom: Maybe with them, you might have stood a chance.

He then rips the tree down making it fall forward as its roots are yanked up from the ground.

Summer: B....but THAT'S NOT POSSIBLE THAT WAS GUARANTEED TO KILL YOU.

Venom: After 600 billion years and witnessing two evolutions of humanity you pick up a thing or two, even a defense from the tasty silvereyes.

Venom: But, if its any consolation...THAT HURT LIKE HELL!!

Summer then panics and turns her gun back into the sword, rushes forward and proceeds to slice at Venom multiple times, Venom then swipes at her head but she ducks and cuts off his legs, causing him to fall on his back and then Summer stabs him in the middle of his chest and pushes it in deep, then pulls it out turns it back into a gun and points it at his head, but before she can fire he grabs her gun bends the barrel upward causing her shot to shoot to the sky then he uses his tendrils to push her off a few feet letting go of her weapon when she does, then grows his legs backflips back up rips the blade off of her weapon uses his tendrils to bring summer close then in one swift motion he stabs her in the chest with her own blade.

She then falls to her knees coughing up blood and looking at the monster towering over her.

Venom: You know we might have just moved on to the next town, but since you really pissed us off we are now going to slaughter the rest of that village, who will all die knowing you have failed to protect them.

Summer: Wh...what are you*cough* going...to do with me...leave me to bleed out?

Venom: That was the idea...

His smile widens.

Venom: On second thought.

Timeskip

The Villiage of Gift.

David is keeping watch, but then he hears footsteps and looks to the forest hopeful that the huntress killed the parasite, then object is thrown from the forest and lands at Davids' feet, he could not tell what it was at first but upon closer inspection, he realizes that it is actually a crushed weapon wrapped in a white hood.

David: NO!

He then looks to the edge of the woods to see a 7'6 ft. gooey black monstrosity smiling at him.

It suddenly hits David that none of them are going to be getting out of this town alive.

Present Day

Anima continent,  Bar in the Town of Shion

There are two men sitting at the bar one is a 6'0 ft. and nicely dressed, the other is 5'9 ft. dirty, and has a five o'clock shadow.

Dirty Man: Hey sal can I get another round.

As Sal gets him another round the patrons' attention turns to the T.V.

T.V.:  Good evening, I am Betty Brant, and I am reporting to you live from Downtown Vale where just moments ago the Oscorp Electric energy amplifier was being revealed to the world when an assailant calling himself Electro killed two Oscorp security personnel and was about to do the same to Norman Osborn, but thankfully Spider-Man showed up and pulled Mr. Osborn to safety.

Dirty Man: Hey can you turn that off?

Clean Man: Hey, some of us want to see Spider-Man.

Dirty Man: Why? all that vigilante does it causing more trouble than he solves and doesn't care whose lives are affected by the prosses all he cares about is that he got the glory that's what matters.

Clean Man: Hey, aren't you Eddie Brock?

Dirty Man: Yeah I used to be, looks Sal forget that last drink I am heading out.

As Eddie leaves the Bar and walks down the street back home unbeknownst to him a black gooey tendril substance exits the body of a rat and absorbs into Eddie Brock's skin.
