Fang Liguoâs impatience was evident in his tone as he interjected, âThatâs enough. Letâs not waste any more time. We should go inside and see Mom.â Song Ling pondered aloud, âI wonder when Mom will awaken. Iâve already prepared my will. Once Mom signs it, bequeathing all her assets to Jiayi, Iâll finally feel at ease.â
âLower your voice!â Fang Liguo sharply whispered, casting an annoyed look at her. âDo you want the entire world to hear you?â
Startled, Song Ling hurriedly covered her mouth and discreetly shut the door.
Turning towards Chen Yang behind her, Fang Yuan spoke, âI have a few matters to attend to. Carry out your tasks.â
Chen Yang inquired, âWhat about the report from Madame Old Fang?â
Fang Yuan replied, âUnless thereâs something extraordinary, you can handle it yourself.â
âUnderstood.â Chen Yang then noticed a man not far away. This man possessed a commanding stature and impeccably groomed short hair. An aura of aristocracy emanated from him. Was he Bo Yi? Since Fang Yuan had rescued Old Master Bo, they seemed to have formed a close bond.
Bo Yi also noticed Chen Yangâs presence. A cursory glance landed on him before settling on Fang Yuan. The newcomer appeared nonchalant about Chen Yangâs presence, as he inquired softly, âHave you encountered any difficulties?â
Fang Yuan responded, âNot at all.â
Bo Yi insisted, âIf you encounter any challenges, donât hesitate to inform me.
Iâll take care of it.â
Observing Bo Yiâs earnest expression, Fang Yuan casually remarked, âNo need. i dealt with a couple of aggressive dogs. Now, Iâll head inside to see Grandpa.â âVery well.â Bo Yiâs eyes trailed Fang Yuan as she entered the hospital room. Then, he turned his attention to Chen Yang.
Uncertain whether to greet him, Chen Yang found himself at a loss. Even Grandpa seemed to hold this man in high regardâ¦
Before he could decide, Bo Yi had already redirected his gaze and followed Fang Yuan into the hospital room.
âYuanyuan, have you encountered any difficulties?â Old Master Bo inquired with concern as he laid eyes on his granddaughter-in-law.
Fang Yuan assured him, âNo issues.â
Old Master Bo emphasized, âIf anything arises, inform Bo Yi. Heâll handle it. And if he doesnât manage it satisfactorily, come to me. 1â11 support you.â
Upon hearing this, Fang Yuanâs eyes flickered. âUnderstood.â
Reluctant to part, Old Master Bo continued, âYuanyuan, donât forget your promise to me. When Iâm discharged the day after tomorrow, make sure youâre here to pick me up!â
Fang Yuan offered a gentle smile. âI wonât forget. 1â11 be there.â
Once outside the hospital, Fang Yuan inquired about Granny Boâs condition.
âSheâs suffering from a brain injury,â Bo Yi explained gravely. âApart from autonomous breathing and blinking, she exhibits symptoms consistent with a vegetative state.â
With understanding dawning, Fang Yuan recollected a past case she had handled. A patient had faced a similar belief that their brain injury had left them in a vegetative state. Though the patient ultimately recovered, the journey had been challenging. Certain medications, rare and obtainable only from the Golden Triangle, had proven particularly troublesome to procure. âDinner together?â Bo Yi suggested.
Checking the time, Fang Yuan contemplated explaining her prior commitment to her parents at home. However, Bo Yi swiftly dialed a number on his phone and spoke, âUncle, itâs me. Yuanyuan and 1 have plans to dine out tonight.â âDonât worry. Iâll take good care of her.â
Fang Yuan.â.. â
Had she just been agreed upon?
âWhat kind of cuisine are you in the mood for?â Bo Yi swung the car door open and waited for her to step inside.
Fang Yuan.
Bo Yi probed further, âHow about Western or Chinese food?â
Fang Yuan.
âPerhaps Korean or Japanese cuisine?â Bo Yi continued.
Fang Yuan.ââ¦â
Bo Yi offered another option, âOr any other type of cuisine?â
Resigned, Fang Yuan relented as she settled into the car. âWhatever.â
As Bo Yi took his place in the car, he noticed Fang Yuanâs intention to remove her necklace. Swiftly, he reached out and captured her hand, preventing her from doing so.
Caught off guard by the sudden warmth enveloping her hand, Fang Yuan looked to Bo Yi with surprise. She voiced her concern, âI really shouldnât accept this.â
Bo Yi responded sincerely, his gaze locked onto hers. âNo one deserves to wear it more than you. I understand you might not be thinking about marriage at this point in your life, and thatâs perfectly fine. Thereâs no rush.â
Fang Yuan felt conflicted. The necklace was undeniably valuable and conspicuous. Plus, anyone who recognized it would understand its significance. Only the Bo familyâs granddaughter-in-law could wear such an emblem.
Observing her attempt to remove the necklace, Bo Yi played his next move. âGrandpaâs health is fragile. Wearing it, at least until he leaves the hospital, would mean a lot to him.â
Caught in a dilemma, Fang Yuan found herself speechless. She cautiously withdrew her hand, but Bo Yi intercepted the movement.
He clung to her hand earnestly, his grip gentle yet unyielding. Her hand, delicate and soft, seemed to hold an unexpected charm that he wasnât willing to relinquish.
Fang Yuan attempted to reclaim her hand, saying, âLet it go.â
But Bo Yiâs grasp remained steadfast. Gazing ahead, he requested calmly, âJust let me hold your hand for a little while.â
Fang Yuan:ââ¦â Are you polite? Wanting everything?
âAre you familiar with Chen Yang?â Bo Yi suddenly asked.
Fang Yuan.ââ¦.â
Mu Qing, who was driving in front, did not expect Master Bo and Miss Fang Yuan to progress so quickly. He was so excited that his hands were shaking on the steering wheel! The road tonight could be peaceful.. Otherwise, how great would it be if it were to jolt Miss Fang Yuan into Master Boâs arms like last time!
