Chapter 29 - The Fight

I put on my bulletproof vest and looked at myself at the mirror. Crystal stood beside me and helped me to put my grenades and other things. We arrived in Russia this morning and we're currently in the small Lemiere base in Russia.

"I don't know what will happen after this.. I don't know what's in your mind either.. Whatever happens.. I just want to say that you need to stay alive." She said.

"I will." I said to her and she looked up to me.

"I trust you." She said and I smiled. I caressed her cheek and leaned my head to her. I kissed her slowly and hugged her.

"Don't worry. I will stay alive." I said and when I was going to walk away. She stopped me and when I turned my head to her.. she looked down to the ground.

"If you decided to leave me, can you please comeback to me one day when you're ready? I will wait no matter how long it will take. I don't care if you will comeback to me after 20 years or.. 30 years.. I will wait." She said and that got my breath hitch.

"I will note that." I said and I pushed her hand down. I walked towards the door.

"Lucas." I stopped walking.

"Stay safe and don't die." She said.

"I won't die." I said and walked out the door. I walked towards the helicopter and found myself looking at to the base. I took a really deep breath and got into the helicopter again without looking back.

"Ready?" Deandre said and I nodded.

"Let's go!" He said and 5 helicopters took off from the base. I kept remembering Crystal's words again and again.

"You okay?" Deandre asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I said and after flying for 20 minutes. We arrived on the area near Kristopher's base. We all got out from the helicopter and got into the car. I'm in the car with Matthew and we both just focus on destroying Kristopher because he's pissed that his sister's life is on the line.

We started off by sending bombs from the sky. Kristopher's alarm went off. Matthew stopped his car right in front of the gate and we got out to the car. Crystal, Joan, Nate and Morris stood behind us as me and Matthew put a bomb on the gate.

We all ran a few meters and when it blew up.. we ran inside. I kept checking on Crystal all the time to make sure she's safe. We shoot Kristopher's guards one by one and since there's a lot of us.. we're done clearing the north part of his base. We waited for Nicholas to give us orders from the Southern part of the base.

I checked around place and my eyes widen to see a shooter on the 3rd floor. I shot him right away.

"Shooter.. your 2 o'clock. 3rd floor." I said to Matthew and he shot him right on his chest. His shooting skill is amazing.

"Lucas.. what the heck is that?" Crystal asked as she pointed to on the red dot.

"Shit! Get out from the grass!" I shouted and tell everyone through our earpiece. We stick ourselves to the building because the red dot earlier was an automatic gun and Kristopher just took out. Out of nowhere, I remembered that there's an access somewhere on the grass that can lead us right to Kristopher's place.

"I want you guys to find.. a circle pattern on the grass. If we find it, we can go inside faster." I said to my team and they nodded. I told the others through the earpiece and we started to look for it without going there because.. the automatic shooter will shoot us along with another shooter.

"We're done blowing up.. there's a lot of guards here!" Nicholas said.

"Let's go there." Matthew said but I stopped him.

"Let them distract Kristopher's guards.. we need to find it."

"Let's just stick to the plan, Vecton." Matthew said coldly and I sighed. I decided to go with them and Crystal stopped me.

"Let's go find it." She said and I shook my head.

"Let's just sti-"

"We both are going to find it." She said and we sneaked away from the others. We looked around for a few moments.

"What the hell are you guys doing?" Morris pulled us angrily.

"I found it!" Crystal said it at the same time. She pointed at it and I confirmed it again.

"Team Beta, come to the west wing. We found something." Morris said and we waited for the team to come. The team came quickly and I ran towards it to open the access with my access card. Kristopher is an idiot for not changing it. I opened it and gestured them to follow me. I got in first and the lights started to turn on one by one.

I smirked looking at this tunnel. It reminds me when I was going to runaway from Kristopher. I turned back to check if everyone's here. I keep my eyes around and my gun ready to shoot. We walked slowly until suddenly one of the doors are open. I threw a grenade and it blew up right away. I peeked and it's cleared. We walked pass the dead guards and found 3 doors.

"Honestly.. I forgot which door because it's been 6 years since I tried to runaway through this tunnel so let's just split up." I said but it's pure a lie. I teamed up with Matthew and 6 other of my men along with Nicholas' men. Crystal and Morris went to the other side. I know that it the safe side.

I walked through the door and I locked the door right away. Locking Matthew and the others inside. I heard they were shouting and trying to reach me but.. I'm sorry. I need to do this alone without risking other's. I ran towards Kristopher's office alone and I found Nicholas, Alex, Aiden, Andrew, Dylan and Archer already there.

"Where's Matthew and Crystal?" Nicholas asked me.

"I locked them.. I think I need to do this alone." I said to them and Nicholas gestured me to stand in front of Kristopher's office. I put my access card and the door opened. My eyes widen to see no one's inside.. but I remember something.

"There's no one's inside." Alex said.

"No.. there's an underground room." Nicholas said and that's when I flashback my memories.

"Give me all your grenades." I said to all of them. I put down my gun and took 12 grenades from them. I walked inside and put the grenades on timer. I closed the door and at the same time.. the alarm of Kristopher's base rang. It opens all of the doors around us. I took my gun again and started to be alert 10 times more. The grenades blew up and it reveals one underground access.

I ran in there and there's a long tunnel. I ran quickly to find Kristopher when suddenly someone hit me. It's him.

"You betrayed me!" He hit me hard causing me to fell down. I threw a grenande to prevent the other from coming here. The grenade blew up and all the parts of the underground fell down blocking the door.

Kristopher dragged me with his titanium arm and pinned me to the wall. He punched me with his other arm and kicked me right on my stomach. I got up and shot him a few times but I missed the shot. I tried to crawl away to gain strenght. He walked to me and grabbed my hair. He pulled my hair and then punched me again. I got up and punched him back. My eyes caught him trying to reach for the gun but I kicked his stomach. He got up and walked to me again.

I was trying to get up.. but he punched me right away making my body fly back to the wall. I fell down to the ground completely lifeless. The previous wound still weren't healed and now I have to deal with this again. I might die soon.

"You supposed to be on my side!" He bursted angrily at me as he punched me with his titanium arm again. My body hurted a lot and I got up slowly but he kicked my stomach again. I took out a knife from my thigh and got up right away. I ran to him.. I hit him with my gun and shot him a few times. He hit me one more time but I got up right away. I stabbed him with the knife right through his heart.

I took my gun and shot him with all the bullets that I have left.

Done.

I took out the knife from his chest and walked through the tunnel. It's completely done and I ran through the tunnel to find a way out when suddenly I remember.. I ran back to Kristopher's dead body but it's gone.

"Do you think I'm dead, Vecton?" He hit my back hard causing me to fall down again. I threw my last grenade to him and threw my knife right to his heart. I ran away from it and he blew up. At the same time, Nicholas blew up the door. He looked at me in horror and I asked him to give me his gun. He threw it and I got up to shoot Kristopher again to make sure that he's dead. Nicholas and the rest got into the underground tunnel. Dylan threw another grenade towards Kristopher.

"Give me the remote! Where's Andrew?" Nicholas bursted and Andrew ran to him. He gave him a remote that I didn't know about. He pressed the remote and it blew up big! We all jumped into his office again and ran out from the base.

We all ran towards the doors where I locked Matthew, Crystal and the others. I opened the access card causing the people from the other side of the door falling down to the ground.

"What the hell happened to you?" Crystal looked at me in horror and I just gestured her to go. We all ran towards the place where we got in. I kept alert by guarding their back and checked everything one last time. We got out from the base.

I took out my phone and Deandre gave me a location. After clearing out everyone out from the underground, I ran away from them towards the location that Deandre gave me. I ran away with the last energy that I have. I turned my head to the back and saw Crystal standing alone.

I got into the helicopter and asked Deandre to go.

I passed out right away after that..
