Chapter 35
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
She grabbed the nurseâs hand tightly, âDidnât we already pay the medical bills?â
The Flanagan family didnât keep their promise. They said as long as she played âPenelope, they would take good care of Grace, right?
âIâm not sure about this either, it seems that one of her relatives just came and handled it. By the way, are you a relative of hers? You can go pay for this weekâs infusion cost first.â
Relative? She and Grace only had each other; what other relatives were there? Only she and Leah FlanaganâEaden were here just now.
Allison clenched her hand and went to pay the infusion cost first, but when she saw the medication list, she felt a surge of anger burning in her chest.
These werenât the imported miracle drugs from overseas. She gritted her teeth. Leah FlanaganâEaden had deceived her!
She paid for Graceâs hospital stay again, requesting the nurse to move Grace to a double room, and specifically emphasized the use of the best medication for treatment.
She charged all this money to the Flanagan familyâs account. Standing at the end of the corridor, she watched from a distance through the crowd until she made sure Grace entered the room before she felt slightly relieved. But she couldnât stop the tears from falling.
In the ward, Grace felt a bit uncomfortable. Although it was a double room, the other bed was empty, and she was the only one in the room.
The cost of the room she previously stayed in was several hundred per night, so how much was this double room?
âI canât afford this; I think itâs quite nice to stay in the corridor.â
âMs. Flanagan has paid for your hospital stay; you can rest assured and stay.â
âMs. Flanagan?â Graceâs face lit up with joy; she seemed very excited, and her eyes that were a bit dim due to illness also brightened up, âWas it the lady in the beige dress and silverâgrey shawl?â
The nurse replied, âYes, so you can rest assured and stay.â
It really was her.
Penelopeâ¦
She knew that Penelope might be a bit capricious on normal days, but she was essentially kindâ
hearted.
The Flanagan family really did a good job educating her.
Graceâs expression became complex as she thought of Penelope.
Just for a moment, Graceâs eyes that shone because of the pain hid some secretsâ¦.
After seeing Miranda, Lucian didnât go to find âPenelopeâ for several days due to being busy, which made Allison feel much more relaxed.
After class one day, she was dragged by Daisy to visit Northfieldâs annual highâend jewelry exhibition, which was attended by prestigious businessmen from Northfield.
Allison didnât expect to get separated from Daisy after only staying in the pearl exhibition area for a while.
After texting Daisy, Allison suddenly heard a flattering voice by her ear.
âMr. Lindberg, this is the ruby cane passed down from the 1660s, said to have been left by Queen Elyrus. It was bought by an auction house a week ago. Itâs quite a treasure.â
She was taken aback and almost instinctively turned around to see Lucian surrounded by people not far away.
Allison didnât understand why, but she suddenly took out her phone and took a picture of Lucian.
Meanwhile, Lucian, who was visiting the exhibition, seemed to feel something. He looked up in a certain direction but only had time to see the familiar back of that woman.
