Guardian-In-Law by Five Generals
Chapter 415 False Alarm âTell Draco to get his team to secure Clover Center by whatever means possible. The clock is ticking,â Kaze yelled angrily.
âCommander Koga is on it,â Snow replied.
Knowing how much Darcy meant to Kaze, Draco contacted Koga right after his call with Snow.
âTell him to send a chopper. I need a pick-up.â
Kaze ended the call and rushed to a sports car by the road. He opened the door and sat in the front passenger seat.
âHey! What are you doing?â
The woman in sunglasses screamed and looked at Kaze in horror.
Kaze, eyes bloodshot and face menacing, looked like he was a fugitive on the run.
He showed her his mobile navigation. âI need to save someone important to me. Follow my GPS.
âNow!â
He shouted furiously as the woman had not gotten over the shock.
With a shudder, the woman started the engine.
Choff! Choff! Choff!
Halfway down the road, the whirlwind of chopper blades ripped through the air.
âStop the car!â
Kaze got out of the car and grabbed onto the lowered rope from the chopper while the woman with sunglasses and countless passersby watched in shock.
He clung to the rope with one hand as the chopper soared into the sky.
Soon, the chopper hovered on top of Clover Center.
âWe have secured Clover Center, sir. No anomalies have been observed as of yet.â
As Kaze landed on the rooftop of Clover Center, Koga reported the situation to him.
With a solemn look, Kaze went downstairs in silence and arrived. outside Darcyâs office.
Bang!
He kicked the door open. Inside, Darcy looked up from her work and stared at Kaze in shock.
âWhy did you kick my door, Kaze?â
She looked angry.
Kaze was relieved to see Darcy in one piece. She did not seem to know what was going on outside.
âThank goodness youâre fine, babe.â
He took large strides over and held Darcy in his arms.
âWhat do you mean? Why are you acting strange today, Kaze? Did something happen?â
The flush on Darcyâs face was from anger and embarrassment.
Kaze was acting lovey-dovey at her workplace.
âI got a message from you just now and rushed over from Lefterial Group right away.â
Kaze showed Darcy the text message.
âI didnât send you any text messages. Who is playing a prank on you?â
Darcy found it odd. She took out her phone and showed Kaze that she had not sent the message.
Furrowing his brows, Kaze asked, âWhy didnât you answer when I called you?â
âI was in a meeting with the senior executives. I didnât have my phone. with me. How could I take your call?â
Darcy looked at her phone and found the unanswered call from Kaze.
With Kaze pulling a long face, she consoled him with a smile, âIâm sure itâs just a prank. Nothing will happen to me at work. Donât read into it.â
Kaze nodded.
Riley, Darcyâs assistant, knocked on the door and entered the office.
She glanced at Kaze and hid the shock behind her eyes before saying, âThe local military has just conducted an impromptu drill for anti- terrorism. They were assuming Clover Center was under attack.
âNow that the drill is over, their commander, Koga, would have to have a word with you to explain the situation.â
SO Darcy was dumbfounded. She had been focused on work, she had no idea what had happened.
She walked out of the office and noticed that her employees were spooked. Everybody was giving Kaze strange looks too.
Koga drew close.
âHello, Ms. Quint. I am Koga. The anti-terrorism drill happened so suddenly to monitor the cadetsâ response rate, so I hadnât let you and your employees know in advance.â
