Chapter 1070
Mistaking a Magnate for a Male Escort
Charlotte did not ask any question further as she lowered her head and pondered.
By the time she reached home, Ellie was having lunch at the dining table. The latter ran toward Charlotte when she saw her back. âMommy, why are you back so early?â
âI canât carry on my errand, for now, so I came back early.â Charlotte caressed Ellieâs forehead. âGood. It seems like you donât have fever anymore.â
âYeah, Dr. Felch said Iâve recovered,â Ellie responded right away. âI have had no fever for the whole day.â
âGood to hear that.â Charlotte carried Ellie back to the dining table.
Dr. Felch smiled at Charlotte. âEllieâs condition is stable now. Just be careful for two more days.â
âThanks, Dr. Felch.â Charlotte placed Ellie on her chair. âEllie, be good and eat your food.â
âMommy, so tonight, can I go over to Daddyâs?â Ellie cast a glance at her, full of anticipation.
âSure.â Charlotte did not want to back on her promise. âBut youâll have to go over a bit later. Daddyâs usually busy around dinner time. After heâs free, Iâll arrange for a driver to send you there, okay?â
âOkay.â Ellie nodded obediently.
âGood girl. Then eat your lunch now and take a nap later. After you wake up, do your rehab. You may watch cartoons for a while after that. Then itâll be about time.â
âAll right.â
After settling down Ellie, Charlotte greeted Dr. Felch and headed to the study room.
She wanted to sort out the documents for the South Sea project, as she planned to bring them over tonight.
Since everyone would be at the funeral, she planned to get their signatures there. Then, she could put the whole matter to an end.
Lupine was there to help her out, and both of them knuckled off until around four in the afternoon.
Just then, Lupineâs alarm sounded, and she reminded Charlotte. âMs. Lindberg. Itâs time to get changed. We should go.â
âOkay.â Charlotte nodded and stood up after settling the last piece of documents. âBring all the documents with you.â
âGot it.â Lupine got right into it.
Charlotte came to Ellieâs room to check on her the next moment. The latter was still napping while Olivia was reading books beside her.
Upon seeing Charlotte, Olivia immediately stood up. âCharlotte, is there anything?â
âIâm heading out now.â Charlotte took a glance at the clock. âIâll send someone to pick you and Ellie up around eight.â
âOkay. I got it.â Olivia nodded slightly upon hearing that.
âItâs windy tonight, probably going to rain. Please make sure Ellie puts on more clothes. You should wear a jacket too.â Charlotte patted Oliviaâs shoulder.
âGot it.â Olivia let out a smile. âPlease focus on your work. Donât worry and leave the rest to me.â
âOkay.â Charlotte nodded faintly. Before she turned to leave, she suddenly recalled something. âDid you make up your mind already? Are you sure youâre going to follow me to Erihal? I wonât be coming back here once I leave this time.â
âIâve thought it through.â Olivia sounded utterly firm. âI have no ties here, and Iâve got no purpose in life. I should go with you.â
âHow about Peter? Isnât he your ties?â Charlotte asked in a low voice.
Oliviaâs expression changed instantly upon hearing that. âWhy do you mention him out of nowhere?â
âI know that you have feelings for him.â Charlotte had realized that a long time ago. âItâs such a pity that heâs a playboy, and he canât give you happiness. But thereâs no right or wrong in a relationship. If you like him, you should give it a shot.â
âItâs impossible between us.â Olivia lowered her head. âAll I wish for now is to leave this place with you and have a fresh start.â
âAll right then.â Charlotte did not further advise her upon hearing her response. âAfter we get to Erihal, letâs make a new plan for your future. Whether you want to further your study, or you want to find a boyfriend, Iâll arrange for you.â
âThanks, Charlotte!â Olivia could not suppress her gratitude enough. âYouâre so kind to me!â
