Chapter 957:

Seeing Raegan's silence, Henley snapped, "Well, then, tell me, who but me would have come to rescue you?"
Henley initially left the event venue, furious over a series of incidents. On the way, his subordinates relayed a series of alarming news to him. First they reported that Alexis had been arrested, which was predictable.
After Mitchel's revelation, Alexis's capture was inevitable.
Alexis, an outsider, had attempted to gain control of the Dixon family wealth and had even murdered Beuford. He could not escape punishment for his actions.
Henley didn't care about the minor crimes he had committed because he knew Alexis would help him hide them. In the worst case, even if he was defeated, he still had the extensive international businesses that Alexis had created for him. He wouldn't stay broke.
As for what sentence Alexis might receive, Henley wasn't worried.
That despicable coward was not worth his concern. He planned to hire a lawyer for Alexis and leave the rest to chance.
However, when Henley learned from his subordinates that Mitchel had evacuated all the guests and even emptied the hotel, he instantly suspected that something was wrong. Reflecting on recent events, he suspected that Mitchel had more ambitious plans than attacking Alexis and himself.
So Henley hurried to investigate with his overseas contacts, who confirmed that Lorenzo had arrived in Ardlens. He immediately came to the conclusion that Mitchel's main target was probably Lorenzo. He and Alexis were nothing more than minor obstacles that Mitchel left aside in his eagerness to attack the main threat.
Aware of Lorenzo's expertise with explosives, Henley was certain that explosives would play a crucial role in Mitchel's plan.
Henley couldn't understand why Mitchel would take such a big risk that would undoubtedly upset many people. However, he couldn't stop himself from these thoughts because he suddenly remembered that Raegan was still at the hotel.
Henley urgently ordered his driver to turn the car around and entered the hotel through the underground corridor on the second basement floor before it could be compromised. The owner of the International Banquet Center, a good friend of his, had previously informed him of the hidden passageways.
Once inside, Henley eluded Lorenzo's men and searched several locations until he finally found Raegan behaving suspiciously.
To his surprise, as he approached, he witnessed something absolutely terrifying she was doing. He dared to try to cut the cables, despite not having a day's knowledge of explosives. He was torn between admiring her bravery and questioning her sanity.
Raegan asked, "Where did you come from?"
"From the basement, second floor."
Upon hearing this, Raegan quickly lost interest, realizing that it was not important enough to inform the commander.
He reached for the scissors, but Henley reacted quickly and kicked them away.
"What are you doing, are you trying to commit suicide?"
Raegan looked at the scissors, now out of reach. She was already exhausted from moving around in her pregnant state, and now he increased her stress. I was angry. âHenley, please go. "Stop meddling in my business."
âWow, you are really ungrateful. I came to save you out of kindness, and this is how you thank me? Henley's face turned stern, his tone suggesting that Raegan owed him a debt of gratitude.
However, Raegan only had one question. âHow did you know I was here?â
Henley was suddenly speechless.
Perceptive Raegan immediately realized something. "Was my plane transfer your work?"
