Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 951:

Before he could investigate further, the pipe signaled again with five long and six short taps. It meant: "Don't take risks."

Raegan responded, "Okay."

Mitchel advised: "Take care of yourself."

As Raegan listened to his last words, her eyes filled with tears again. She reproached herself for having been on the verge of understanding the truth and for having backed out. Why didn't he keep going a little longer?

Maybe then he would have understood the depth of Mitchel's pain.

But life was full of what ifs.

As she wiped away her tears and prepared to respond, Raegan suddenly heard the sound of footsteps. His senses were on high alert. Her hearing had sharpened considerably since she became pregnant.

He remembered that Matteo had assured him that the building had been evacuated. That is to say, only she, Katie, Mitchel and Lorenzo's team were left.

The footsteps of what looked like English shoes meant that Lorenzo's men were approaching.

Heart pounding, Raegan scanned her surroundings, then ran to the balcony and saw the open window on the neighboring balcony.

The space between them was enough for an adult to squeeze through.

Recognizing the immediate danger, he quickly climbed up.

Halfway there, he remembered his luggage. He ran back and frantically stuffed his belongings into his suitcase.

Groaning with the effort, he drags the heavy suitcase to the balcony and pushes it to the other side.

Fortunately, I didn't have many belongings, which made launching easier, and the carpet on the balcony muffled any noise.

Raegan crawled into the front room just as the footsteps approached.

Suddenly, a loud bang echoed through the air. The door to the room he had just entered was forced open.

Raegan quickly hid her suitcase and looked around for a hiding place.

But the open layout of the hotel room offered few places to hide.

Next door, Lorenzo was checking the room, believing that Katie might have tricked him. Entering an empty room, he stopped when he saw a crumpled sheet. In a seven-star hotel, those wrinkles suggested that someone had been here recently, although it wasn't necessarily proof of Raegan's existence.

After searching every corner, Lorenzo went out to the balcony. He saw that the window of room 8019 was open, but the one on the neighboring balcony was closed.

With his suspicions growing, Lorenzo felt a surge of adrenaline. He whistled and moved from room 8019 to 8020, bursting in with his usual assertiveness.

His footsteps, intentionally loud, resonated as if trampling on nerves.

“Hello…” Lorenzo whistled nonchalantly as he strolled, visibly pleased with himself. «Hello, honey. You don't need to hide..."

"I've missed you, darling..."
