Chapter 890

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 890:

? ? ? ? ?

Elin hesitated, unsure how to respond, until Erick gently lifted her to her feet. His eyes fixed on the red marks surrounding her neck, his gaze intensifying as he softly asked, “Can you walk?”

Elin's hand found warmth in his grip, nestled in his palm. She nodded. "Yeah.

Erick leaned slightly and held out his hand to button his jacket.

During the ride to the hospital, silence remained between them, creating a disturbing atmosphere.

After the medical examination, Erick quickly handed the documents to his assistant and ordered him: “Find the best lawyer. Make sure Dayton is held accountable.”

Sitting in the car, Elin felt a fraction of her fear dissipate upon hearing Erick's directive, her heart finding some stability.

When the assistant left, Erick adjusted the temperature in the car to a comfortable level and gave Elin a glass of sugar water to calm her down.

Sipping slowly, Elin's emotions began to stabilize.

Erick explained, "Raegan tried to find you in the studio but couldn't, so she asked me to come check on you." That explained his appearance.

Elin didn't need to ask, because Erick had already given her the answers she was looking for.

"Farley has passed away, allowing Dayton to come to Ardlens."

The death of Farley, the only person who could discipline Dayton, voided any previous guarantees given to Erick.

Elin's hand shook and her grip on the cup weakened. This meant that Dayton was no longer subject. His only option was temporary detention, insufficient to contain such a villain.

Seeing Elin's distress, Erick felt a pang in his heart. He took the glass from her hands, wrapped her in a comforting hug, and murmured reassuringly, “It's okay, Elin. "I'm here and I won't let anything happen to you."

Hearing his words, the tears Elin had been holding back spilled out. His eyes turned red, like a scared rabbit's.

Fortunately, thanks to the timely intervention of the officers, Elin had not suffered more serious physical injuries than those to her neck and arms.

However, he suffered psychological consequences. Living as a prisoner for two years had deeply ingrained the fear of Dayton into her psyche. The mere mention of his name gave him chills, not to mention his presence and his malevolence.

Dayton's understanding of Elin's timid nature had encouraged him to confront her without holding back.

Even though Elin had just thwarted Dayton's plan, no one really understood the immense courage it had taken her to stand up to him.

After the incident, Elin was so weakened that she had to be helped into the police car, barely able to stand.

It was their first direct confrontation, and Elin was not sure if she would face him again. He knew that Dayton, the psychopath, would not relent in his malicious actions. Especially now that he had been thwarted, which only fueled his anger and made him even more dangerous. As he was pinned to the ground by the agents, his gaze locked onto her with intense hatred.

Elin dreaded the feeling of being enveloped in darkness again.

Erick hugged Elin, giving her a refuge in which to release her emotions.

Elin, ever cautious, silently shed tears, adding to her poignant vulnerability.
