Chapter 883

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 883:

? ? ? ? ?

However, Erick agreed to a visit to the place, finding himself in the harsh winter of Uchaesau after a long trip.

The temperature was plummeting far below what Swynborough had ever experienced.

The idea that Elin, always shivering from the cold, would choose an academic life in such a frigid place baffled Erick.

On his first day, after a brief summit with potential allies and discarding their social invitations, Erick headed to Elin's school.

The university's centuries-old reputation was reflected in its grandeur and attractiveness.

After a simple search, Erick received permission to explore the grounds. His steps took him, almost aimlessly, until he stopped in front of the women's dormitory, lingering without a clear intention. Perhaps it was hope, however weak, that guided him.

As the snow thickened, he watched some young men handing out hot food to the girls they were in love with.

The scene was charming, with echoes of days filled with the vitality of youth.

Just then, a couple appeared.

Dressed in a khaki hat and a long down coat, the girl snuggled into the boy's embrace, the image of a couple hopelessly in love.

Erick's heart skipped a beat. Despite her bundled appearance, I knew it was Elin.

As the snowfall intensified, it dusted Erick's shoulders as he stood, almost camouflaged against the white background of the wall, in the shelter of a tree.

The absurdity of the moment surprised Erick. I didn't understand why he had come. Elin had put oceans of effort into escaping his reach, but here he was, inventing reasons to follow her to Uchaesau. He had persuaded himself to pursue a losing deal, bordering on madness.

Those five minutes, although brief, became an eternity for Erick.

The truth fell upon him in that chilling clarity. Madness had taken over him. Elin was flourishing, a world away from his shadow, and evidently doing better than him.

As Erick was about to leave, a wave of frustration prompted him to shake the snow-laden branches, drawing the attention of the nearby duo.

The young man stared at Erick's back, bewildered. “Was anyone there a moment ago?”

Elin, fighting a throbbing headache and blurred vision, could only make out a vague silhouette. However, that silhouette looked familiar. He bore a striking resemblance to the man engraved in his heart. With a flutter of his eyelashes, he dismissed the idea. That figure couldn't be Erick.

Elin hoped that by moving to Uchaesau, changing her contact information, and severing her ties to the past, Erick's memories would fade over time. Surprisingly, Erick's visions persisted. Every tree, every blanket of snow, even a vague figure in the distance, seemed to echo his image. It was undeniable that she was bewitched.

Desperate to move on, Elin discovered that time had only intensified her longing for Erick. A few months had passed since his departure, but it seemed like their paths had crossed in an endless amount of time.

Inwardly, Elin scolded herself and realized the need to get rid of that longing. Even if she couldn't truly forget Erick, she could at least feign indifference.

«Elin? Are you OK?" The concern etched on the young man's face was unmistakable. «You don't look good. Do we need to see a doctor?

Shaking her head, Elin replied: “No need, it's nothing serious. "A little medicine and rest will do."

Acclimatizing to the cold of Uchaesau proved difficult. Elin was a regular victim of colds and fevers. These persistent ailments had diminished her, causing a notable weight loss. Fortunately, his winter attire was forgiving, and the voluminous down jackets concealed his shrunken figure.
