Chapter 879

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 879:

? ? ? ? ?

Elin shared with her mother her plans to study in Uchaesau.

Annis was shocked. «Elin, weren't you planning to go to university here? Aren't universities abroad essentially the same?

Elin gently patted Annis's shoulder and smiled. «Mom, it's actually very different. Uchaesau's fashion and jewelry design program is more renowned. If I'm going to go to college, I better go to one I really like, right?

Annis struggled with the thought of her daughter being so far away, her voice shaking. "But it's so far..."

"It's not that far away." Elin tried hard to sound cheerful, hiding how she really felt.

«Four years will fly by. Mr. Foster is very generous in granting you one month of vacation a year. You could visit me in Uchaesau during that time, and we could explore different cultures together. Wouldn't that be wonderful?

Elin was sharp, and Annis was insightful. Annis rubbed her hands nervously and said, “Elin, is it because of what happened earlier that you are still upset with me… I…?”

Annis's voice broke. «I had no choice. Mrs. Foster has been very kind to us, and we are really not on the same level as her son. I know my words last time hurt your pride, but Mr. Erick Foster is really from a different world. I'm sorry. But do you understand that I only said those things for your own good?

Understand… Landen's words echoed in Elin's mind. Everyone expected her to understand them, but no one seemed to try to understand her perspective.

She had never intended to seduce Erick, but she had not expected that her selfless acts would alarm others. If I had known, I would have avoided such a misunderstanding...

Elin felt a sting in her nose and fought back tears, managing to smile. «Mom, it's nothing like that. "I really want to study in Uchaesau."

Ultimately, Annis wanted the best for Elin's future, so she withdrew her objections. He sighed and said softly, “You have big dreams, my daughter. Take care of yourself".

Elin's eyes filled with tears. «Mom, take care of yourself too. Little by little I will become your pillar of strength..."

A few days later, Landen had taken care of all the preparations for Elin, who was leaving shortly.

Elin said goodbye to her close friends and went out to dinner, returning late to the Foster estate.

Seeing that Annis was still up, Elin went to check on her, as usual, to see if she needed help.

Arriving at the main house, Elin met Erick, whom she had not seen in many days. He was sitting on the couch, looking tired, like he'd been drinking once again.

Elin walked past the couch without stopping and passed Erick. She had no right to worry about him anymore. His way of repairing the damage was to send her abroad, clearly indicating his desire never to see her again. The initial agony, which felt as if his heart had been ripped out, had passed days ago, and he now knew how to hide it better.

Growing up, Elin endured a hard life and moved around a lot with her mother. His resistance to pressure surpassed that of most people. These experiences had developed his strong self-esteem, his keen sensitivity and his mature personality. She was afraid of being looked down upon, so she vowed not to make the same mistake again and follow her own path.

Landen's words had made one thing clear to Elin. Social class existed, invisible but always present.

In the kitchen, not finding her mother, Elin decided to leave.

Just as Elin was about to walk away, she saw Erick leaning on the sofa, his head thrown back and his Adam's apple bobbing, looking distressed. He was aware that his throat hurt every time he drank.

After a brief hesitation, Elin returned to the kitchen and prepared a glass of frozen lemonade for Erick as she had done before. Since he was leaving tomorrow, this would be the last time I made him this drink.

Once ready, Elin silently left the glass on the table without him noticing.

After looking at Erick, Elin turned around and left.

Erick had always had a chronic throat problem that made drinking uncomfortable. When he opened his eyes and went to get up to get water, he noticed the glass in front of him, a familiar sight, refreshing and attractive. He took a sip and then a big gulp, immediately feeling relief in his throat.
