Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 874:

However, the fire within was increasingly difficult to contain. When Erick tried to get up and grab his phone, he hit the table and hit his head. Finding his phone, he quickly called his driver to pick him up. The fact that Elin accompanied him exceeded his expectations.

This incident could have been avoided, and Erick did not have time now to deal with these complications.

Besides, a bar was not an appropriate place for a young and naive girl like Elin. It was a breeding ground for danger, a crossroads of temptations and risks. In her innocent school uniform, Elin stood out among the provocatively dressed women, making her an easy target for unwanted attention, or worse.

A shadow fell over Erick's face at these possibilities. He told Elin coldly, “None of my affairs are your concern. You obviously don't understand your place. Have I been too lenient with you?

Erick's words were intended as a warning, a warning to make Elin aware of the dangers that lurked in places like this. However, when they reached Elin's ears, they transformed into sharp blades, destroying her heart and leaving her hurt and resentful.

Elin's gaze burned as she clenched her fists, holding back the tears that threatened to overflow. He knew that showing tears now would only attract more contempt.

The trust that Elin had meticulously built over the years crumbled under Erick's contempt. He fell into a pit of doubt, unable to look Erick in the eyes since that fateful day.

Erick, a typically reserved and controlled man, rarely displayed such outbursts of temper. He abruptly ended his call with the driver, stood up, and carelessly tossed a suit onto the couch, motioning for Elin to put it on.

This gesture was nothing more than an act of condescending charity, a clear indication that he considered her presence an unwelcome nuisance.

Elin covered herself with the suit, in a sad attempt to preserve some dignity. Despite the situation, she couldn't risk being seen in public in her current outfit. Her mother's voice haunted her, scolding her for not recognizing her place and for chasing impossible dreams. Just as Erick had pointed out, he shouldn't even worry about someone of his size.

Coming from very different worlds, Erick was the heir to the prestigious Foster family, and Elin was nothing more than the daughter of a maid. It was inappropriate for her to mistake Erick's kindness for an invitation to care for him, much less develop feelings for him.

Erick's harsh words snapped Elin out of her reverie. In fact, he needed to understand his position. Who was she? Just the daughter of a maid, confined to the servants' quarters of the Foster estate. That was his reality.

When Erick looked away, he saw Elin standing there. His head was bowed and his body seemed to have lost all its energy. The oversized suit was baggy, almost reaching her knees, making her look like a ghost, vulnerable to being blown away by the slightest breeze.

Elin's normally bright eyes were now dull and lifeless, like stars drowned by the cold grip of despair. Her pale complexion made her seem almost ethereal, as if she would faint at any moment.

A pang of guilt hit Erick as he realized his words may have been too harsh. Elin was only eighteen years old, probably more lost in the complex dance of relationships than he was. He chose his next words carefully. «Tonight's matter…»

“It's okay,” Elin whispered softly, barely audible. "No problem. Don't worry. "I won't say anything to anyone."

Erick was momentarily speechless, his eyes boring into hers, both filled with unspoken thoughts.

Thinking that Erick doubted her, Elin hastened to promise silence. «I swear that I will keep the secret… I…».

Elin's gaze drifted to a mirror, reflecting Erick's imposing figure.

His features were striking, his presence almost otherworldly. His voice became a whisper. "I know my place."

Although everything seemed to have been settled easily, Erick felt more irritated than relieved. A nagging thought bothered him: things shouldn't have ended like this.

Erick leaned forward, about to speak, when Elin, like a startled bird taking flight, quickly backed away and ran out the door. His departure seemed more like an escape than a simple exit.

As Elin ran out the door, she collided with the driver, who had just arrived. His worry eased a little when he saw her. «It's a good thing you're here! I have been very worried. "I couldn't find you anywhere," he exclaimed in a relieved voice.

The chauffeur had served the Foster family for years and had become close friends with Annis. A model child, Elin had always held a special place in his heart and, over time, he had come to adore her as if she were his own daughter.
