Chapter 827
Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook
Chapter 827:
? ? ? ? ?
Silently, Mitchel looked at her, offering no response.
However, Raegan didn't need his answer. He simply let the term of endearment slip from his lips one last time.
"Mr. Dixon. Returning to the formality of their initial meeting, Raegan introduced a sense of distance greater than anything they had known before.
"Mr. Dixon, I surrender. Raegan watched Mitchel standing just inches away, yet he remained like an elusive mirage, intangible and distant.
Raegan passed him with a touch of her presence, and her parting words, though soft as a whisper on the wind, resonated with crystal clarity. "From now on, I won't bother you anymore."
Tears cascaded down Raegan's cheeks, marking her farewell. He made no effort to mask their breakup. Instead, she considered her tears a farewell to both her former self and him.
He accepted that Mitchel's love had faded. He also recognized that love had its limits. This time, she released herself without reservation, without needing anyone to persuade her. In that moment, fantasies, regrets, bonds and doubts found their resting place.
Mitchel remained motionless, like a statue immobilized by his words. He watched Raegan's slender figure gradually disappear in the car's reflection, and a sudden pang gripped his heart as if it were being torn apart. It wasn't that he lacked the desire to turn around, but something as simple as that... He found himself unable to do so.
Matteo sensed something was wrong as Raegan left and hurried towards Mitchel. "Mr. Dixon," he called, his voice tinged with concern.
Mitchel's face was a mess, drenched in sweat, and he looked clearly uncomfortable.
Matteo, aware of the watchful eyes behind them, pretended to open the car door while quickly grabbing Mitchel's arm to support him.
Finally, Mitchel managed to lift his stiff legs and get into the car. However, once inside, he couldn't even settle into the seat and collapsed on it.
Startled, Matteo quickly closed the car door, hoping that no one behind them would notice anything.
Once back in the driver's seat, Matteo saw Mitchel struggling to sit up on his own. He was going to help him, but Mitchel snapped: "Drive!"
Matteo's hand twitched and he clenched his jaw as he started the engine.
Suddenly, Matteo heard a noise.
«Poof! Mitchel, in the back seat, tried hard to sit up, but couldn't. "He ended up coughing up blood."
"Mr. Dixon! Matteo instinctively stepped on the brake, intending to stop the car.
âNo⦠Keep going,â Mitchel said, clenching his fist, his voice strained. "Come back to Serenity Villas."
Mitchel had moved back to Serenity Villas.
Without permission, Matteo didn't dare stop the car, but he was anxious. "Mr. Dixon, we should take him to a hospital..."
âNo need,â Mitchel replied, his face as pale as a sheet, coldly dismissing the idea. The hospital couldn't help him. They would only give him painkillers. It was poisoned, and even the best hospitals could not discover the poison or offer an antidote.
Soon Mitchel would need a wheelchair to get around. Watching his body weaken day by day, unable to stop it, overwhelmed him. He decided to face it alone. If the person he loved could live out his days in peace, that would be enough.
Upon arriving at Serenity Villas, Matteo helped Mitchel to the front door, but Mitchel simply waved his hand dismissively and said, "Come back."
