Chapter 806
Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook
Chapter 806:
? ? ? ? ?
With their moral compasses at opposite ends, having any kind of conversation was meaningless. "I'm sorry, but this supposed misunderstanding cannot be cleared up," Raegan stated, turning to leave.
But Henley grabbed her hand roughly, staring at the medical report. "What about you? Didn't you just come out of the obstetrics department?
"That's none of your business!" Raegan snapped, pushing his hand away fiercely. âLet go of me!â
Instead of letting go, Henley tightened his grip. âAre you pregnant again?â He scoffed, âMitchel doesn't love you, and yet you're pregnant by him. Are you stupid?
Henley had witnessed Raegan's previous interaction with Mitchel.
Although Mitchel seemed distant towards Raegan and didn't seem to make a move, it was likely that he was prepared.
Always suspicious and cautious, Alexis and Henley prepared for Mitchel's next move. They were prepared to leverage Raegan if necessary, but Mitchel had made it clear that he was done with Raegan.
Additionally, Mitchel had claimed that the Dixon family would recognize Katie's son, which was a significant sign. When a man hugged a child, it implied the mother's acceptance.
Maybe Mitchel was propping up Katie as a strategic maneuver. And it worked. After all, Katie now wanted nothing to do with Henley and Alexis' plans. However, Katie couldn't escape. Henley knew enough to control her.
Henley remained skeptical, observing the situation closely. He wasn't keen on the idea of ââexploiting Raegan, but if pressed, he felt he had no choice. However, if Mitchel truly abandoned Raegan, she would be of no use.
Raegan furrowed her eyebrows. «Did you only look at the obstetrics department? Didn't you also see the gynecology department?
Henley took a look and sure enough, next to the obstetrics department was the gynecology department.
Aware of Henley's cunning, Raegan was careful not to reveal her pregnancy. Calmly, he replied: "What's so strange about an adult woman visiting a gynecologist?"
"Okay, maybe it's my mistake. But what I saw earlier in the VIP area I didn't misinterpret, right? Henley insisted.
Observing Raegan's pale complexion, Henley's lips curled slightly as she continued, "Mitchel doesn't care about you anymore, so why do you insist on clinging to him? Maybe you should think about me. No matter how many affairs I've had with other women, it's always been you who I've truly loved.
"Henley, I don't owe you any explanations!" Raegan snapped.
«If I wasn't clear before, let me be clear now. I have no relationship with you, not even as acquaintances. If you dare attack Janey or anyone close to me, I will fight you to the end, no matter the consequences! I hope that â¦."
He paused; his words were deliberate. âDon't make me regret offering warmth to the boy you used to be.â
Raegan's words hit a nerve, making Henley's breath hitch in her throat. His fixation on Raegan stemmed from a childhood incident, and now she was expressing remorse for having ever warmed to him. In a sudden outburst of anger and shame, he exclaimed, "What's so good about Mitchel? Despite his constant humiliation towards you, you still choose to support him over me?
«He is an honorable and upright man in both his personal and professional life. He never resorts to deceptive tactics to achieve his goals. Do I need to expand more? Raegan replied. "He's better than you in every way."
Henley was speechless. Frowning, he said, âEverything I have done has been to claim what is rightfully mine.â
"Does it belong to you by right?" Raegan challenged, âHenley, what exactly belongs to you? Under Mitchel's leadership, the Dixon Group has doubled its achievements and prospered, all thanks to his dedication. Even if you think you are entitled to a share, you could have demonstrated your capabilities through fair competition, not by colluding with shareholders behind the scenes.
Instantly, Henley's face flushed with a series of emotions. «Did you ever give me a fair chance to compete? When I joined the company, he did everything possible to marginalize me, preventing me from even standing up. Meanwhile, he has the best resources and connections at his disposal, helping him effortlessly achieve anything he sets his mind to!â
Henley continued defensively: 'Do you think I enjoy scheming in the shadows? If I were in his place, I would do a better job than him.
"A better job than him?" Raegan scoffed. âHenley, the moment you stooped to using those underhanded methods, you lost all right to compare yourself to him.â
