Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook
Chapter 805:

After Victor left with Janey, Raegan proceeded to her ultrasound.
The results were immediate and the doctor reassured Raegan: âNothing serious. "Just make sure you take folic acid supplements, get plenty of rest, and try to avoid stress."
Raegan felt the tension in her heart lift. He expressed his gratitude to the doctor, accepting his report, and on his way out, he accidentally bumped into someone. Quickly apologizing, he began, "I'm sorry..."
Before he could complete his apology, Raegan realized that she had bumped into Henley.
Henley's gaze fell on the medical report in her hand, and he extended his own, saying, "What were they checking on you?" Let me see".
Raegan stepped back and hid the medical report behind her, eyeing Henley warily. âAnd why do you care?â
Henley, unperturbed, smiled serenely. "Why are you here alone for the checkup?"
"Mr. Brooks, I don't think we're close enough for this conversation."
Raegan replied.
Since Janey's kidnapping, Raegan had grouped Henley with Lauren and Katie. All of them were ruthless in their own right.
Henley, as clever as ever, knew how to sit back and take advantage of other people's problems.
Henley's gaze locked on Raegan. "We're not exactly strangers, are we?"
Judging by the way Henley wavered between threats and nonchalance, Raegan could tell he was a master manipulator. "Are you referring to the time you tried to blackmail me with my daughter's disappearance?" Raegan challenged.
Henley was speechless. He searched for words, trying to justify himself. «It was a misunderstanding. Raegan, I wasn't trying to blackmail you with your daughter's situation. I just wanted you by my side. I was investigating then..."
âEnough,â Raegan interjected.
Raegan refused to speak to Henley any further. In an icy tone, he asked, "By misunderstanding, do you mean not giving me a hand when I needed it most or trying to force me to be your lover, something that society despises?"
Henley's expression soured. For once, he couldn't find the words to reply as the truth of his intentions hung in the air.
âI'm sorry,â Henley finally murmured, the words torn out after contemplation.
«Bringing the subject now, in these circumstances, has been inconsiderate on my part. I understand that I bothered you before. "I won't say something like that again."
Henley added in an effort to smooth things over.
Raegan did not wish to interact with Henley any further. All she wanted was for him to stop making her sick.
Unexpectedly, Henley spoke again. âRaegan, if you're worried about people's judgment, give me some time. Right now, I need Matilda's support. When everything is settled, I will divorce her and marry you.
Raegan froze, shocked by his words. His revulsion caused by Henley sank to new depths.
Was he really plotting to marry Matilda to take advantage of the Holmes family's wealth and influence before divorcing and then marrying her? Could anyone in their right mind contemplate such a plan?
