Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook
Chapter 796:

Nicole seemed stern as she responded, "You just gave your word."
Jarrod simply reached out to gently hold her face and kissed her fervently.
Just as Nicole's anger was about to boil over, he let go of her with a chuckle. "I know".
Jarrod stepped back, leaning nonchalantly against the doorframe with one hand in his pocket, the picture of relaxed elegance. "I'll come pick you up tomorrow night."
Nicole's response was the emphatic sound of the door slamming shut.
Staring at the closed door for a few seconds, Jarrod laughed and walked away.
Unbeknownst to him, Nicole had been watching intently through the peephole. He only looked away when he saw Jarrod enter the elevator and descend. Quickly, he went to the window to make sure his car was leaving.
Once the black Maybach left the community gate, Nicole quickly opened a closet, punched in the password to the safe, and pulled out an obsolete phone. He dialed a number. «I have a flight at six in the morning. Start packing your bags. A car will arrive soon to pick you and Austin up. Another will be waiting when you land. We will regroup when we arrive.
After ending the call, Nicole took out the SIM card, burned it with a lighter, broke it in half and flushed the pieces down the toilet. He then smashed the phone case with the handle of a knife and put it in a garbage bag to dispose of later.
Next, Nicole grabbed the suitcase she had packed earlier, changed into black sleepwear, grabbed the trash bag, and left her apartment.
With caution, Nicole avoided the underground garage.
Instead, he drove to the community's temporary parking area and slid into a discreet Volkswagen.
He opted to leave through the back door, but as he approached the gate, he realized that the security guards were not the usual ones. His behavior was too professional for the usual security personnel.
The guards stopped abruptly in front of Nicole's car.
Feeling a tremor in her hand, Nicole managed to hold the car steady.
Instead of driving straight, he feigned confusion like a visitor looking for parking.
Looking in the rearview mirror, he saw one of the guards heading straight toward his car.
Nicole accelerated, stopped the car abruptly at the next corner and jumped out without even grabbing her luggage.
The footsteps sounded closer and closer.
A shiver ran down Nicole's spine. She should have known Jarrod wouldn't trust her. Her recent confessions were a farce, designed to lower Jarrod's guard and see if he trusted her.
The thought of being caught again filled Nicole with fear. He had not fully recovered from his previous injuries. What new torments could Jarrod devise? Plus, Jarrod might track down Austin soon. With his distrustful nature, Jarrod would intensify his search for Austin.
Fear gripped Nicole like never before. With no way to escape, he tried to hide in the bushes. However, before she could hide, a man grabbed her waist and pulled her back. He collided with a firm chest.
Nicole's heart raced and her entire body trembled as she prepared to defend herself.
Suddenly, the man covered her mouth and a familiar voice whispered, "It's me."
