Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook
Chapter 784:
? ? ? ? ?
âSnap!â Each lash sounded, clear and painfully sharp. The sound ringed in Nicole's ears, drowning out everything else in her world.
âJarrodâ¦â His lips trembled uncontrollably, his voice wavered.
«Jarrod, please let him go. âHe is innocent⦠Please let him go!â
Nicole grabbed hold of Jarrod's sleeve, leaning all her weight on him, who looked like he was possessed, as she screamed, âLet him go! Jarrod! Please let go!â His eyes were red and his voice was rough from his desperate pleas.
Jarrod's expression was still stern, his handsome face showing no sign of empathy for her hysteria. «Nicole, I have been too lenient with you in the past. It's time for you to grow up."
A mocking smile appeared on his thin lips, cold and disturbing. "You should realize that not all mistakes can be corrected, nor can all betrayals be forgiven."
Nicole's pupils dilated and her face became hideous. The man before him looked like a cold snake, finally releasing his poisonous words. It was the real Jarrod, there was no doubt about it! Nothing to do with the man who received praise in court.
«Jarrod, what gives you the right to hit someone? You are breaking the law, youâ¦â
Before Nicole could finish, a laugh cut her off.
âOh, Nicole, you really are endearingly naive.â Jarrod pulled Nicole into his arms, his gaze as chilling as a snake's.
«Right now, I am the law-abiding Mr. Schultz. Do you think he would commit such illegal acts?
Nicole gasped under his grip, writhing with all her might, her face red with the effort. «Law keeper? And shit. You are a monster. Your act is disgusting.
«Did you say disgusting? Suddenly, Jarrod pulled Nicole's hair, forcing her to tilt her head back and freeze. He leaned towards her and whispered coldly, "I tried to be good for you, but once you came back, I realized that everything is useless, completely useless."
Jarrod had noticed. Nicole would never forgive him, whether he was good or not. So why did he bother pretending to be a good person? Should he be good, let Nicole have the life she wanted and silently wish her well? Jarrod would never dare stand by and watch Nicole fall in love with others or lead a life without him.
«Enough, maniac! "You're going to kill him." Despite the sharp pain in her scalp, Nicole did not back down. He kicked and punched, resisting with all his might, although it didn't seem to have any effect on Jarrod.
Jarrod turned her to face the window, holding her tightly from behind and forcing her to look inside. "Do you know who took your lover last night?" he asked.
Nicole remained silent, and Jarrod continued: "It was his father."
Nicole's eyes snapped open. How could it be?
Jarrod explained: "He found out from the Hampton family that I would be fine, so he decided to send Roscoe away for safety. But Roscoe didn't want to leave, he insisted on staying.
"Why do you think he refused to leave?" Jarrod asked, watching Nicole's reaction in the reflection of the glass.
Nicole realized that she was the reason for Roscoe's refusal to leave.
Roscoe had promised never to abandon her, under any circumstances.
True to his word, he never broke that promise.
Jarrod was bothered by Nicole's immediate understanding, hinting at the unique, unspoken connection that existed between her and Roscoe that made him envious.
