"So how did you know he worked for Late?" Nicole demanded.
«I've been tracking him for days. I know about your Late nights, and I'm aware of your Valentine's date. I have even taken numerous photos and videos, which I have shown to Jarrod,â Alec revealed everything, silently anticipating how Jarrod would treat her.
Nicole was focused solely on locating Roscoe. How could he have disappeared like this?
Alec claimed that he had not captured Roscoe, but Nicole suspected that Alec knew better. Otherwise, Alec wouldn't have fooled her like that, and his expressions and tone suggested he knew something.
Losing patience, Nicole asked, "Where did Roscoe go after you followed him last night?"
"They took him away in a black minivan," Alec replied.
"Who?" Nicole narrowed her eyes and insisted, "Who took him?"
Alec's mood soured. «Do I look like your detective? Why would I care who took it? "I have no reason to follow him."
Alec scoffed. "I wish I were dead."
In Alec's mind, Roscoe's constant battles with Jarrod were unforgivable. I wouldn't even blink if Roscoe died.
âWho are you trying to intimidate with this little fork?â Alec brushed Nicole's hand away disdainfully. "I don't think you have the guts to stab me."
When Nicole released her hand, the fork fell to the floor.
Nicole couldn't imagine that anyone other than Jarrod would have a reason to kidnap Roscoe.
âMove, you're in the way,â Alec muttered, wiping his neck. "Don't worry. "I won't lay a finger on you unless Mr. Schultz says so."
Nicole opened the bathroom and the two women came out screaming.
Leaning against the wall, Nicole felt a wave of nausea. With a harsh cough, he expelled the alcohol he had just ingested. She sank to the ground, totally exhausted.
At that moment, Alec's phone activated. Alec picked up the phone, responded with a couple of "yeses" and ended the call.
Approaching Nicole, whose face was drawn with fatigue, Alec said coldly, "Miss Lawrence, Mr. Schultz wants to speak with you."
Nicole's gaze was unfocused, indifferent to his statement.
Alec continued: "He knows she's worried about Roscoe and has offered to take her with him."
Nicole sat up suddenly, feeling a stabbing pain in her stomach, as if a knife had been stabbed into her, and her body convulsed from the intensity of the pain.
Alec laughed lightly. «You don't have to hurry. You will soon join him.â
Nicole followed Alec to a majestic private club, whose façade exuded grandeur.
Inside, Jarrod was the picture of serenity, calmly sipping tea.
