Chapter 774
Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook
Chapter 774:
? ? ? ? ?
His voice was soft but clearly audible. A deep sadness permeated his soft voice.
Nicole had once been a girl eagerly searching for love, but after suffering so much degradation and pain, she had lost the courage to love and be loved. At times, he even wondered if he deserved that fate. She and Jarrod were like two wounded souls, constantly competing to inflict more pain on each other.
Jarrod had no intention of releasing Nicole, just as she had no plans to let Jarrod go. Their story was destined to end tragically.
"It doesn't matter," Roscoe said softly, looking at her. "Nicole, even if you can't love anyone anymore, it doesn't matter."
Roscoe understood what he meant. She was saying that she couldn't love anyone anymore, including him.
"I will always be with you," Roscoe stated solemnly.
âYou are too naive.â Nicole found it difficult to continue convincing Roscoe, since she had exhausted all avenues, and he was still as stubborn as ever.
Nicole had resolved that, once the matter with Jarrod was resolved, she would move with Austin to a secluded place to turn the page and live a life away from the public eye. When Austin had grown up safe and sound, his mission would be accomplished. His obligations to this world would be over.
Roscoe said softly to Nicole, âCome in. It's pretty cold tonight. "Don't catch a cold."
Nicole nodded and entered the building.
It wasn't until Roscoe briefly watched the light come on in Nicole's apartment that he slowly rolled up the car window and drove away.
The day of Jarrod's trial finally arrived.
Nicole attended the viewing, elegantly dressed in a red dress complemented by a black hat.
The doors closed without Roscoe appearing, and Nicole, feeling somewhat bewildered and uncomfortable, sent a message to Roscoe. "Are you busy?"
Roscoe had promised to accompany her to the trial the night before, and would have informed her if anything urgent had arisen. He wouldn't just disappear without explanations.
After waiting a few minutes with no response, Nicole thought about calling Roscoe to see what was happening.
But just as Nicole was about to unlock her phone, a side door opened.
Jarrod was taken out from inside. He was neatly dressed and his demeanor was serene. His handsome face showed no signs of distress.
If it weren't for the stubble around Jarrod's chin, no one would guess that he had been confined for almost two weeks.
As soon as Jarrod sat down, his gaze found Nicole in the back row and a knowing smile appeared on his lips.
Nicole's body instinctively reacted with a shiver, and goosebumps broke out on her skin.
«Miss, are you okay? Noticing that Nicole was shaking and turning pale, the woman sitting next to Nicole couldn't resist expressing her concern.
Nicole gives a weak smile. "I'm fine. Thank you".
The woman, radiating warmth and familiarity, asked, "Miss, are you a friend of Mr. Schultz?"
