Chapter 772:

Roscoe offered a gentle reminder. «It's Valentine's Day. "I was hoping we could enjoy dinner together, rather than being alone."
A light of understanding dawned on Nicole. "Ah, now I understand."
Roscoe looked at her with a hopeful expression. "Are you free to join me tonight?"
"Yes, I can do that," Nicole replied.
As Nicole walked to Roscoe's car, he politely held the door for her, carefully making sure she got inside without any stumbles.
Inside was a bouquet of white roses, perfectly arranged and waiting.
Nicole looked at them, visibly moved.
"They're for you," Roscoe announced, smiling warmly. «It is a nice tradition that I have adopted. It gives it a touch of celebration, right?
Gratitude washed over Nicole and her smile was genuine as she breathed in the scent of roses. It was a surprise that lifted his spirits. Flowers, after all, had a certain charm, and this bouquet was no exception.
Nicole had weathered many storms, but now she stood firm, ready to embrace joy without regard.
As they drove, Roscoe asked him about his dinner preferences: "What do you prefer for dinner?"
Nicole replied without much thought, âI'm easy to please,â and her eyes briefly glanced at the news on her phone.
They arrived at a restaurant that was an oasis of tranquility in the middle of the night bustle. Once settled at the table, the food was served without delay, each dish a mixture of lightness and flavor.
Roscoe addressed another topic. "I've been looking into Jarrod's situation," he mentioned. «The Hamptons have taken some hard hits lately. With the recent Lowe incident, they're cornered. âThis time we have enough evidence to put together a solid case.â
Nicole's peace of mind would not come until Jarrod's fate was sealed. After all, Jarrod had a knack for turning the tables in the Schultz family's favor, rocketing them to prominence in short order.
Jarrod's talent for turning setbacks into victories made Nicole wary of bringing Austin to her side, suspecting that Jarrod might still have tricks at hand.
With the trial date on the horizon, Nicole's anxiety increased by the day. "We can't lose sight of what's happening right now in the Hamptons," he said, with a gentle nudge in his tone.
Dragging Roscoe into the fray hadn't been Nicole's plan, but his decision to expose the illicit activities of the Watts and Schultzes meant that he was now deeply involved. His attention had shifted to safeguarding those close to him.
"I've got it covered," Roscoe reassured her.
Eager to get away from the somber themes, Nicole tried to inject some levity. "Hasn't your father been playing matchmaker lately?" he asked with a playful smile.
Roscoe gave a small smile. "He's tried a few dates, if only to not bother me."
Reading the nuances in his face, Nicole felt a surge of empathy. "So none of them worked?" he asked softly. «I really think you should find someone. Better not to stay single like me.
Love had once left Nicole so scared that she had closed her door permanently.
Roscoe's gaze held a complex mix of longing and wariness. "Don't you see how much you mean to me?" He had never felt so attracted to others.
