Chapter 766

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 766:

? ? ? ? ?

Upon arriving at the premises, Raegan scanned the room but did not see Mitchel. However, he recognized several executives from well-known companies.

Raegan had a glass in her hand and every time she toasted she explained that she couldn't drink alcohol for health reasons.

Fortunately, these people knew she was a leader, not a salesperson, and respected her wishes.

As time passed, Raegan's feet began to hurt. He resisted the urge to sit up, continually glancing toward the entrance, hoping to catch a glimpse of Mitchel's arrival. But as the night wore on, Mitchel didn't show up.

Raegan learned from conversations that Mitchel had sent a representative in her place. This representative was a senior executive of the Dixon Group, sent by Matteo.

When Raegan saw Matteo, she called out to him and quickly approached. She got straight to the point and asked, “Matteo, where is Mitchel?”

Surprised by her frankness, Matteo did not respond immediately.

He simply said: "He's in the company."

"So, is it available?"

Matteo scratched his head. "Not quite. "There is a lot to manage in the company."

"You didn't come because you knew I would be here, right?" Raegan insisted.

Matteo's eyes strayed for a moment, trying to maintain his professional tone as he replied, "How could it be...?"

But Raegan was far from naive. So did Mitchel avoid the event because he knew she would be there? Had he done everything possible to avoid her?

Raegan's heart sank, but she contained her discomfort and didn't make things difficult for Matteo. “You can mind your business.”

Matteo quickly left, clearly relieved.

Too disheartened to stay at the banquet any longer, Raegan returned to her car. Her heart and feet hurt, and she felt overwhelmed. The more she thought about it, the more determined she was to face Mitchel today, no matter the consequences. Even though it was overwhelming, I wanted the truth.

With that determination, Raegan took action. Before leaving, she ordered her driver to give her a glass of wine, which she poured herself. She also applied blush on her cheeks. Her appearance was that of a disheveled and slightly drunk woman.

Arriving at the Dixon Group building, Raegan dismissed his driver.

The driver asked for confirmation. "Miss, are you sure you don't want me to wait for you?"

“No, they'll take me later,” Raegan replied confidently and headed down the underground passageway, laden with last-minute snacks.

After entering the password, he realized that the elevator's exclusive code had not changed.

As the elevator slowly ascended, Raegan felt a wave of nerves, but there was no turning back. I had to keep going since I had come this far.

The Dixon Group building was deserted, except for the light that still shone in the president's office.

Raegan stood in front of the door, thinking about how to greet them without seeming awkward or distant. He steeled himself, pushed open the door, and exclaimed out loud, “Surprise!”
