Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook
Chapter 762:

"Miss Foster, what's wrong?" Matteo usually addressed Raegan in a more casual manner, but this formal address hinted at someone else's influence.
Putting aside her feeling of disappointment, Raegan said, "Matteo, I wanted to express my gratitude for the way you have handled the repercussions of the recent robbery incident at my studio."
Matteo quickly responded: âMiss Foster, I haven't done anything. Are you sure there is no misunderstanding?
Raegan feigned surprise. «Aren't you the one behind it? My brother mentioned that it's a movement led by Dixon, which put my clients' minds at ease. If it's not you, then who else could it be..." He broke off, hinting at a name he hadn't said.
Matteo's voice betrayed his anxiety. «It was me, all me. Miss Foster, please keep this between us. "I would be in serious trouble if Mr. Dixon found out about this."
Matteo was determined to keep Mitchel's name away from the matter, fearing any association. After all, Mitchel had ordered it.
Raegan pursed her lips and said, âI understand, Matteo. You know me. Your secret is safe.
Matteo gave a nervous laugh and replied: "Thank goodness."
After ending the call, Raegan felt that one thing was unequivocally clear.
The change in attitude of their customers had something to do with the Dixon Group. His studio had not become financially or legally involved with the Dixon Group.
There was no other plausible explanation for the Dixon Group's involvement, except that Mitchel was behind it. Did he really expect her to believe that it was Matteo who had helped her? As Mitchel's long-time assistant, Matteo could handle small matters in private, but openly using the Dixon Group's resources for her was not within protocol.
Such carelessness would not be expected of Matteo, nor was it something Raegan would take at face value. The cause of the incident was almost clear.
When Raegan composed herself, she turned and saw Mitchel silently watching her from behind. This unexpected sight made her jump.
Mitchel smirked and asked, âThinking about jumping from here?â
Raegan turned her head and noticed that the balcony railing was under repair. She had been so absorbed in her phone call that she had missed the warning signs and had walked into a dangerous place. A single misstep could have sent her plummeting from the mall's sixth floor.
However, Mitchel ignored the comment and walked away as if her safety meant nothing to him.
Raegan refused to accept that idea. "Mitchel." He quickened his pace to catch up.
When Mitchel didn't stop, Raegan held out her hand.
Sensing her movement, Mitchel dodged just in time, causing Raegan to almost lose her balance. He managed to grab onto a nearby pillar.
Raegan withdrew her hand and, at his indifferent gaze, forced a small smile. âDid you just show concern for me?â
Pointing to the compromised railing, he asked, "Were you worried I might fall?"
Mitchel cast a mocking glance at Raegan. Before he could part his lips to speak, Raegan covered his mouth with her hand. "Don't talk," he insisted firmly. "I know you still care about me."
Staring into space, Mitchel asked, "Have you washed your hands?"
Raegan almost lost her cool at his words.
