Chapter 741
Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook
«I know it's my fault. I shouldn't have bothered you. Pleaseâ¦â Her eyes fixed on Henley determinedly as she pleaded, âPlease give me Janey backâ¦â
Raegan was willing to do anything for Janey. Every second was crucial.
Otherwise, who knew what those monsters could do to Janeyâ¦
"You!" Henley was not happy, but rather furious. Here was Raegan, kneeling before him, surely ruining the image he had just built.
Others would just assume he was pressuring her.
"Get up!" Henley ordered, pulling her by the arm. "Raegan, don't test my patience!"
Henley dragged Raegan to a hidden corner where they couldn't be seen.
Raegan didn't resist and simply said, "Just give me Janey back."
âIs that the only thing you can say?â Henley narrowed his gaze.
Henley might seem like a scholar, but when his expression turned cold, an inexplicable darkness clouded his features. Especially those eyes hidden behind gold-rimmed glasses, like a cunning fox hiding in the shadows.
Beneath his sophisticated exterior lurked a dangerous appeal, the kind one would find in a modern "rogue gentleman."
âWhat do you really want?â Raegan's eyes were red, her self-control at the limit, wanting to destroy that cunning man.
"What do I want?" Gently lifting her chin, Henley offered, âStay by my sideâ¦â
Raegan felt a chill. Containing his displeasure, he asked, "And Miss Holmes of Manning?"
Matilda Holmes had been engaged to Henley for two weeks.
Alexis arranged the engagement, thinking it was a suitable match for Henley, given his status.
Matilda's family, famous for their generosity, had an excellent reputation and was an ideal match.
Henley, charming and handsome, had quickly captured Matilda's affections.
Despite the video incident, Matilda stepped forward to explain that it had just been a misunderstanding, showing complete faith in Henley. She was so infatuated it was like she was under a spell.
âRaeganâ¦â Henleyâs lips formed a slight smile, his voice hoarse.
âYou must understand, whoever I marry can never take your place in my heart.â
Raegan's stomach turned. He wanted her as his secret lover, kept in the shadows.
The longing in Henley's eyes as he looked at Raegan was evident as he whispered, âStay by my side, Raegan. You won't have to worry about anything. I will take care of you..."
At that moment, Raegan wished she could slap Henley hard across the face. How could someone say such offensive words without thinking twice? His audacity was incredible!
