Chapter 739
Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook
Alexis no longer paid attention to him. He helped his secretary off the floor and continued his indulgence.
As soon as Raegan left Alexis' office, she gasped, clutching her chest. Anxiety made his heartbeat erratic. He leaned against the wall to steady himself and waited for the heartbeat to stabilize.
Then, a pair of black leather shoes slowly stopped in front of her.
Raegan didn't need to lift her head to know who it was, as there was an unmistakable coldness about the person.
Henley put his hands in his pockets and said quietly, âRaegan, why do you have to put yourself through all this?â
Raegan asked numbly, âHenley, was that you? "Were you the one who took Janey?"
She knew he wouldn't tell the truth, but she still asked. I didn't want to lose even a bit of hope.
Henley looked at her and smiled weakly. "No.
Raegan was too overwhelmed by the situation to make out his expression. His body had reacted to the stress. His head, limbs, and even his bones ached.
âRaeganâ¦â Henleyâs eyes showed a trace of compassion as he reached out to gently brush her hair away. He said softly, âEven if you treat me like this, I can still forgive you.â
Raegan, stiff but reflexively frowning, dodged his touch.
Henley's hand floated in the air. The next moment, he giggled.
«Raegan, I have told you many times. Facing things head on will only bring you trouble and pain.â
Raegan didn't want to waste her time with Henley. He had to continue searching for Janey's whereabouts.
Henley smiled coldly and said, "Instead of wasting your efforts, why don't you seek my help?"
Raegan stopped dead and turned suddenly. âDo you know where Janey and Annis are?â
Henley responded nonchalantly, âLocating someone is a piece of cake for me.â
Raegan knew that Henley wanted to take advantage of her vulnerability.
Just as he was about to walk away, Henley said, "Is there really a butterfly fairy?"
Raegan's eyes immediately darkened. This was the story he had told Janey.
Raegan told Janey that if she ever got lost, not to run around. Let her stay where she was and wait for the butterfly fairy to find her.
Raegan ran back and grabbed Henley by the neck. He asked in a hoarse voice, "Where are you hiding my Janey?"
His face paled. And his voice shook as he shouted: âIt was you, wasn't it? It was you who took my Janey. Give it back to me. Give it back to me!
Henley remained calm. «Don't get so agitated. If you keep grabbing me like that, everyone will think you're harassing me. Do you remember the rumors from last time? "It will be counterproductive."
