Chapter 737

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Undeterred by his silence, Alexis continued: "With such a large compensation, you will probably have to use your family's liquidity."

Had he imagined what might happen if he did?

The threat in his words was palpable. Not content with targeting Raegan's studio, Alexis would go after the Foster family business if Raegan didn't agree.

Raegan responded coldly, “Thank you for worrying. But my family's finances are pretty stable now."

Alexis assumed she was just being stubborn. Under the guise of looking out for her best interests, she suggested, “Raegan, I was worried about you. Why don't you just accept that Mitchel is dead and drop the case? Then, I will collect your share of the shares for you.”

Of course, once the case was dropped, the price of those shares would depend on Alexis. By using tricks to plummet the Dixon Group's stock prices, the money he would have to shell out for Raegan would be reduced to just a fraction of the money owed.

Raegan realized that Alexis's ultimate goal was to force her to admit that Mitchel was dead. Only then could Alexis move forward with his big plans.

Raegan looked at Alexis and said coldly, “Mr. Dixon, Mitchel is not dead. Please be careful with your words in the future. "I don't like those kinds of words."

His words angered Alexis. Raegan, impervious to both flattery and threats, was proving too much to handle. He growled: "You will soon know what true suffering is."

As expected, Raegan's negotiations with other companies became complicated this afternoon, probably due to Alexis's interference.

It was almost dark when Raegan, exhausted, returned to the studio. He had been in the studio for two days in a row, with no time to go home.

Fortunately, with Annis and the bodyguards at home, Raegan could rest easy.

Despite the relentless challenges, Raegan did not give up. Thanks to their tireless efforts, the situation had almost stabilized. Overall, the losses were much smaller than he had anticipated.

The largest order was from Arthen Entertainment. They did not ask for any compensation. Instead, they found a replacement and changed the entire setup themselves. This had gone a long way in reducing Raegan's losses significantly.

Raegan tried to make it up to Devonte, but he refused.

Devonte even said, "With Mitchel's problem, the right thing to do is to have a friend of his take care of you. Wait for him to come back and everything will be fine.

Like Raegan, Devonte did not believe Mitchel was dead. In his opinion, Mitchel was invincible. How could Mitchel disappear just like that?

Devonte's words made Raegan's nose tingle. He suddenly felt like crying. She never cried when she felt pressured by those heartless people. But a single sentence from Devonte made her cry. Many thought he was delusional, clinging to false hopes. But Devonte decided to believe her.

However, fate was not kind to Raegan. When one crisis seemed to subside, another arose.

On Raegan's third day in the studio, she received a call from home.

The driver said frantically, “Miss Foster, I went to Janey's daycare to pick her up. I waited forty minutes, but Annis and Janey hadn't come out. "I asked Janey's teacher and she told me they had already left."

Raegan jumped up and said, “Go to the security room and check the surveillance footage. "I'll be right there."

Then he hung up the phone and ran out of the studio. When he got into the car, he realized that he was shaking all over, clearly not in the state to drive.

Raegan called a designated driver to take her to Janey's daycare. During the trip, he did not stop insisting the driver to speed up.
