When Raegan tried to get out of the car, her legs couldn't support her and she fell.
âMadamâ¦â Matteo rushed to help Raegan up.
But Raegan pushed his hand away and headed toward the dark smoke coming from the sea.
Matteo stood nearby, watching her enter the water, before intervening to stop her. «Madam, don't go any furtherâ¦Â»
In a voice harsh as if burned by smoke, Raegan demanded, "Why?"
Matteo trembled visibly, trying to contain his emotions as the words barely came out. "The SUV was ready to explode the moment you got out of the driver's seat. "The safety team did everything they could, but the only way to stop it involved putting something heavy in the driver's seat in the last five minutes, and we couldn't do that without the right tools."
Overcome by emotion, Matteo cried. go. Dixon decided to stop the countdown himself to take his place...
Mitchel had sacrificed his own life to save Raegan's.
Raegan stared at the part of the sea darkened by the explosion, frozen in place. He whispered to himself, Could he still be out there in the water?
Trying to swim towards that area, her movements were frantic, but Matteo grabbed her, holding her firmly in place. «Madam, you can't do this! "I would be disregarding Mr. Dixon's efforts to protect her."
«Matteo, he is alive. He had promised that he wouldn't leave me alone. Why doesn't anyone try to rescue him? Please, we have to get it out⦠The water is freezingâ¦Â».
The tears came again, big and heavy, falling into the frozen sea.
Raegan kept saying quietly, "I can't stand the thought of him being cold and alone in the water... I shouldn't be there..."
Matteo cried, unable to keep his eyes open. How could there be anything left to find? The explosion had been massive.
However, driven by desperation, Raegan went deeper into the water, sobbing. "Mitchel, let's go home..."
Suddenly, he dove into the cold sea without thinking twice.
"Lady!" Matteo shouted, in panic, and without hesitation he launched after her.
Holding Raegan, Matteo swam back to shore.
Once back in the car, Raegan was shivering, her body chilled by the seawater.
Half unconscious, Raegan clutched the coat Mitchel had left in the car, whispering weakly, "Mitchel, please come back..."
Raegan drifted in and out of sleep for what seemed like ages. He dreamed that he was wandering aimlessly through a dark and endless ocean, looking for Mitchel.
The sea was black as coal, frozen and devoid of light.
Raegan swam until she couldn't take it anymore, feeling lost and desperate.
Just as Raegan was about to give up, she heard a familiar voice calling out to her. âRaeganâ¦â
