Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

«Lauren, wake up! I have heard them. "They are planning to make us both disappear forever!" Raegan blurted out.
Doubt flickered in Lauren's eyes, and her grip weakened a little.
"You're just trying to mess with my head..."
Raegan, seething with frustration, wished she could literally open Lauren's skull to understand why Lauren hadn't understood the severity of her situation. Their captors had blatantly spoken of plans to eliminate them both.
Trying to stay calm, Raegan pressed Lauren: âDidn't you hear his words? "They were trying to make you the scapegoat, planning to kill us both and then blame you."
Lauren paused, remembering. The larger man had said something similar.
Raegan continued: "Think about it. If they were really about to send you on a plane, why such harsh treatment?
The evidence was clear. Lauren was missing a chunk of her scalp due to the heavier man's assault, leaving a gruesome, raw wound.
Raegan had to look away as it was too much to bear. Lauren seemed to be in no pain, perhaps numbed by some experimental chemical.
Lauren's condition was serious, on the verge of death. The duration of the drug's effectiveness was uncertain.
Raegan urgently implored, âLauren, we don't have the luxury of time. They plan to finish us off soon. Let's unite to put an end to them. We can settle our own scores later.â
Raegan's calmness made Lauren doubt whether she was the scapegoat for his plans, as Raegan had warned.
Loosening her grip, Lauren hissed a warning: âStay still. "I'm going to check it out."
Lauren crawled to the door and caught the tall man in the middle of a phone call. "I have it. Consider it done. There are no survivors, you can be sure. The madman won't survive the trip, which makes things easier.
Lauren's heart raced. His act of madness in the psychiatric hospital was a strategy to seek treatment and avoid legal repercussions.
Despite her efforts, the judicial system had deemed her mentally fit at the time of the crime and had upheld her death sentence.
Lauren realized that she was the "crazy" one the tall man was referring to. They had deceived her. Indeed, they wanted to kill her.
As she backed away, Lauren accidentally hit a wooden plank, which made a loud crack.
The tall man was on guard. âI have to go!â he growled and ended the call before storming into the room.
Maddened, Raegan tried to escape, which, strangely enough, calmed the tall man. He was more worried about Raegan escaping than Lauren.
The tall man approached Raegan and said, "It looks like you're scared, trying to run away..."
Raegan, petrified, shouted, âBack off! What do you think you're doing?
The tall man lit a cigarette and murmured, "I wish I had time to stay, but unfortunately..."
âThud!â A dull thud echoed through the room.
