Chapter 679

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

? ? ? ? ?

Standing next to Raegan, the man was incognito, hidden under a baseball cap and mask, his features hidden from view.

Raegan stood tall, her body upright and alert.

Time passed slowly.

While Raegan kept her attention focused on the numbers of the descending floors that appeared on the elevator panel, she watched the man's every movement out of the corner of her eye. He refused to let his guard down even for a moment.

Watching the man's cautious glances around her, Raegan remained on high alert.

The restaurant's elevator was equipped with high-definition cameras that captured every angle, and it seemed that the man had taken a moment to look at them.

Every moment that passed seemed agonizingly long.

Finally, the elevator reached the basement.

Raegan's legs had stiffened with tension.

“Ding.” When the elevator doors opened, the man remained motionless, apparently waiting for Raegan to exit first.

Legs stiff with tension, Raegan began to move forward cautiously, but the sound of footsteps approaching from behind caught her attention. She was a few strides away from where the driver was waiting for her in the car.

Raegan quickened her pace and had barely moved when a sudden squeeze on her shoulder startled her.

Raegan's body tensed instinctively and, without hesitation, she pulled her elbow back forcefully.

The person behind Raegan managed to slightly dodge the blow, giving her the opportunity to run towards the waiting car. However, his escape was stopped by a deep voice shouting his name. “Raegan…”

Turning in alarm, Raegan recognized the figure behind her as Mitchel.

Raegan threw herself into his arms in a rush of relief, still shaking with adrenaline. "Mitchel..."

Sensing Raegan's trembling, Mitchel's expression immediately hardened.

"What's going on?"

Raegan looked around, finding no one. He couldn't shake the uneasy feeling, wondering if his instincts were playing tricks on him.

The man in the elevator gave off a different smell than the locals, perhaps foreign.

Now, with no one to follow them, Raegan considered the possibility that the individual she perceived was simply someone on their way to retrieve a vehicle.

Just then, a black sedan drove by.

Raegan blinked and said, “There was a man in the elevator earlier. "I thought they were following me."

"Get in the car first," Mitchel ordered, his senses on high alert.
