Chapter 677

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

? ? ? ? ?

Mistaking the interruption for a mere coincidence, Henley gave Alexis one last look of contempt before deciding to leave.

Gasping on the floor, Alexis was tormented by the fear that she had almost met her end.

As Henley began to leave, Alexis, driven by desperation, reached out and grabbed her ankle. "It's not what it seems, it's not what it seems, my son..."

The seriousness of Alexis's plea, her eyes bloodshot and pleading, conveyed her panic. «I have not abandoned you. But without my actions, we could lose everything.

Sensing a slight relief in Henley's fury, Alexis took the moment to add. «Trust me. Give me some time and everything will fall into place."

Henley, with a mocking expression, asked, "What could that old man have said to make you so weak?"

Getting up and dusting himself off, Alexis looked around nervously before leaning in to whisper a secret in Henley's ear.

Henley's face hardened at the revelation and his hands balled into fists again.

«I was forced to make a temporary concession. Or risk losing the fortune I have dedicated my life to amassing. How could I let that happen? Alexis admitted, her voice tight with frustration.

Their tense conversation was abruptly interrupted by a loud “Bang!”

Alexis started, her body tensing in alarm.

In a fit of fury, Henley punched the car window, leaving it full of cracks. His hand immediately swelled and the skin turned a painful shade of purple and red.

"Son!" Alexis's voice was laced with worry, her heart sinking at the sight.

But Henley, consumed by a storm of rage, barked, "Get out of my sight!"

Henley yanked open the car door and drove away, pushing the vehicle to its limit, a clear reflection of his inner turmoil.

Questions and comparisons swirled in Henley's mind, particularly about Alexis and their seemingly parallel paths, only to realize that fate had, it seemed, always been against them.

Elsewhere, Raegan was attending an event when her phone rang.

On the other line, Mitchel informed him: "The situation at the company has been resolved."

A wave of relief washed over Raegan, prompting her to ask, "Have they given you any trouble?"

Mitchel, understanding exactly who Raegan was referring to, reassured her with a simple, "No."

Their conversation was brief but heartwarming, and ended with Raegan mentioning that she had to get back to her commitments at the event.

“Okay, I'll see you tonight,” Mitchel responded, and the exchange of words was a subtle reminder of the support they had found in each other amidst the chaos.

Raegan, feeling the weight of her commitments, replied, "The director wants to discuss something with me after the event, so I may be late tonight."

Mitchel, ever protective, offered, "If it's too late, I'll come find you."
