Chapter 671

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

? ? ? ? ?

“What are you talking about?” Alexis frowned.

"The letter you said was handwritten by my grandfather."

Alexis's expression changed and, with a wave of anger, he shot: «Kyler's handwriting is known to everyone. Don't blame me.

"Whether I blame it on you or not, you know the truth, right?"

Mitchel's voice dripped with sarcasm. "I'm just giving you a chance to confess."

«Go and check it, then. You just hope your father dies, right? Alexis frowned.

Alexis couldn't take it anymore. That Mitchel had set him up was humiliating enough, and the fact that he hadn't snapped was a sign of his self-control. He knew he still needed to support Henley and couldn't risk ruining Henley's reputation. Now he was facing such a bold confrontation.

Henley chimed in: “Mitchel, our dad just made some mistakes. Can't you give him a break and not fight with him about everything? I know you don't like me, but I've worked hard to achieve what I've achieved, and it's all been for the good of the company. Shouldn't the well-being of the company be our main concern?

On the surface, Henley was trying to ease the tension between Mitchel and Alexis, but in reality he was implying that Mitchel was being petty and resentful.

Mitchel looked at them with a cold expression. It was clear that they were willing to fight until the end. He ordered: "Bring Beuford, please."

At the mention of Beuford, Alexis's face turned white.

An elderly gentleman with distinguished gray hair, dressed in a dark cyan silk garment, made his entrance with the help of Matteo.

Alexis's gaze sharpened as she recognized the man. He was, in fact, Beuford, Kyler's personal butler, a figure of unwavering loyalty who had retired to oversee Kyler's tomb on Mount Moriah after Kyler's death.

Alexis had almost forgotten about Beuford, half convinced that he had died due to the years that had passed.

Yet there was Beuford, very much alive.

«You ungrateful bastard! Why have you separated Beuford from his duties, disturbing his peace? Alexis's accusation against Mitchel revealed a slight tremor in his voice, perhaps unconscious of the emotion he conveyed.

Beuford had been a formidable presence in the Dixon household, someone who had never bowed the knee to Alexis's authority.

Before Mitchel could intervene, Beuford spoke up, his voice heavy with the weight of years but determined. "Mr. Alexis Dixon, this visit was of your own free will, not at the request of Mr. Mitchel Dixon."

The discomfort on Alexis's face was palpable as she managed a forced smile. "And what is the cause of your presence here, Beuford?"

"I came to hear about your recent efforts within the Dixon Group, which brought to mind the last assignment that Mr. Kyler Dixon gave me," Beuford declared, his voice gaining volume as he stroked his beard.

«He warned me: 'Alexis lacks stability. In my absence, you must direct it on my behalf. '»

The authority with which Beuford spoke reflected that of Kyler himself, a testament to the years spent under the patriarch's influence.

Alexis, trying to hide her growing anger, looked down. He was tormented by the thought that, even beyond the grave, Kyler's dominance shadowed his every step.

Witnessing Alexis struggle with her inner turmoil, Mitchel seized the moment. "Dad, why don't you share with Beuford the letter that you said was handwritten by my grandfather?"
