Chapter 610

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

"It's okay, really." He frowned, pressing his head to his chest, lying to calm his worry.

Unable to see his face, but reassured by his steady voice, Raegan's anxiety faded. She relaxed into his embrace, too comfortable to move.

The quiet moment they spent together was incredibly warm.

Mitchel refrained from teasing her any further and ran his fingers through her hair, his voice rich and captivating. "Not everything was because of my grandfather."

Raegan froze and then it dawned on her. Mitchel was referring to Henley's earlier taunts.

Mitchel gently revealed “Actually, I noticed you even before you joined the Dixon Group.”

Raegan was surprised.

Mitchel continued: “At the 7th anniversary of Ardlens University, I was there as a guest. At that time, he did not stop working for the Dixon Group, overwhelmed with work and resolving some issues within the company. A professor whom I admire a lot invited me because he had donated a building at the time. During the last part of the celebration, I decided to leave early. While waiting for the car, I saw a girl heading to the school's artificial lake. I was afraid he would jump, so I hurried over. But it turned out that he wasn't going to jump."

Mitchel smiled softly and added, "I saw her with a small butterfly net, trying to save a cat that had ended up in the middle of the lake." Despite the cold weather, with temperatures well below zero, he waded through the lake to get the cat out. When he took it out, the cat was not breathing, so he performed CPR for twenty minutes. "Then he wrapped him in his coat, and when the cat began to breathe again, his smile was the brightest he had ever seen."

Mitchel looked at Raegan. "I have never seen such a beautiful smile."

Raegan was stunned. “Were you the one who gave me a coat then?”

Raegan remembered it clearly. That day it was freezing cold. Her pants were soaked and she was huddled in her coat, freezing to death, holding the cat. Then a man in a suit walked by, covered her with his coat, and left before she could say anything.

“Yes, I had my driver send it to you,” Mitchel said, smiling. "I'm glad we saw each other again after that."

Raegan's eyes widened. «The, the time after we had a few drinks…».

"Do you think I'm that easy?" Mitchel playfully poked him on the nose, a smile spreading across his face. “I let it happen because it was you.”

Anyone else would have been escorted out immediately by his bodyguards.

Raegan's expression was shocked. So he hadn't chosen her at random? Their sexual relationship after having a few drinks was no coincidence. He played along because she was the girl he had met before, which he used as an excuse to marry her.

Mitchel had always been a man of depth and integrity. To repay Lauren for the favor of saving his life, he had generously gifted her with estates and money, granting her a carefree life ahead.

Mitchel never played with Raegan's feelings.

Raegan's heart skipped a beat, struggling to put her emotions into words. It was a palpitating sensation. He began to see Mitchel in a new light, realizing how extraordinary he was. His seriousness gave him a feeling of security and comfort.

A sweetness filled Raegan, as if her heart were covered in honey.

Their paths had not crossed by chance. Their drunken encounter was a deliberate leap towards each other.

Raegan decided it was time to open up. "Mitchel, there's something I wanted to tell you."

Mitchel stroked her head, his voice soft. "Yeah?"
