Chapter 594

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

? ? ? ? ?

Financial crimes could carry more than ten years in prison, but were not punishable by death.

Although Nicole believed Jarrod was responsible for her father's death, without direct action, the law could not touch him. She never wished for Jarrod's quick death. She wanted him to see her empire crumble around him. I wanted him to be crushed, to live a life worse than death. That was what he wanted for his revenge.

Alec, not expecting Nicole to be so informed, quickly went from scoffing to looking at her with deadly seriousness. He warned him: "If anything happens to Mr. Schultz, you will regret it!"

And Alec left in a hurry.

Nicole walked to the window to watch Jarrod being led away, surrounded by flashing cameras. He breathed a sigh of relief. It wasn't a total loss. If all went well, Jarrod could spend more than ten years behind bars.

In ten years, Jarrod's empire would likely crumble and his name would be forgotten among the Ardlens. No matter what ended up happening to Jarrod, the Schultz Group was on a path toward certain decline.

Unless the Hampton family made an effort to save Jarrod, it was all but over for him. But it seemed unlikely that the Hamptons would go that far for Jarrod.

Below, through the clear car window, Jarrod looked up, almost as if he knew Nicole was watching his fall.

Since the agents arrived, Jarrod had not let his emotions show, not once had he seemed defeated or embarrassed.

Even now, sitting cross-legged in the car and leaning back a little, anyone who didn't know him well might think Jarrod was headed to an important meeting, not the police station.

Jarrod's hospital room was on the fifth floor, so looking from the ground, a person might seem as small as an ant.

But Jarrod was looking up intently, as if he and Nicole were facing each other.

Nicole turned away from the window, no longer interested in observing.

His work was done. With Jarrod convicted, she and Austin could finally be together without fear. It was the life he had always wanted but never thought possible. Now it seemed to be within reach.

Roscoe noticed Nicole's thoughtful look and offered comfort: “Nicole, I have delivered that document. “With these extra charges, there is no way you can get away with it.”

Nicole felt a pang of guilt. She had promised herself she wouldn't get others into this mess, but here was Roscoe, caught up in it all.

She turned to him, observing his kind and sincere face. He used to be an angel, concerned only with helping others, but now he was trapped in these worldly problems because of her.

«Roscoe, once Jarrod is out of the picture, stay away from the Watts family. “They are bad and you are not one of them,” Nicole said seriously.

The actions of the Watts family had left scars on Roscoe, proof of his toughness.

"Okay," Roscoe replied, his eyes bright and sincere. “Nicole, everything is going to be okay.”

But could he be? Despite her plan, Nicole couldn't shake a lingering feeling of unease, especially as she remembered Jarrod's last threat. "I won't let you go again!" That phrase haunted her, sounding almost like a curse.

Raegan spent three days in Mitchel's living room, but he still hadn't woken up. His fever came and went, stubbornly refusing to go away.

Doctors explained that the severity was due to a broken rib that pierced an important organ. Although the operation had been timely, the postoperative infection was worrying. It was important that he not have a fever again. If the fever returned at night, he would have to be transferred to the ICU.

Raegan took care of Mitchel all night with barely any sleep.
