Alec ran in, looking panicked. "Mr. Schultz, several police officers have arrived below."
Jarrod looked at Nicole with intense eyes.
Nicole smiled. âJarrod, did you really think I would fall into such an obvious trap?â
Nicole had left the documents at home, arranged for someone to pick them up later, and sent them to the police. Meanwhile, she was carrying an envelope with an encrypted file as a decoy, prompting Alec to capture her.
Hearing this, Alec opened the file envelope on the table and found it empty. Enraged, he grabbed Nicole, pinning her down and pinning her hands. "You dare to deceive me, you wretch!" His knee pressed firmly, his expression fierce.
Having survived on cunning and strength alongside Jarrod for years, Alec had hidden his true self under suits and ties. But deep down, he was still the ruthless enforcer who inspired fear.
With his knee pressing down, making it difficult for Nicole to breathe, Alec threatened: âYou have the nerve to set a trap for Mr. Schultz. I will finish you right now.
Nicole, unable to move and struggling to breathe, refused to ask such a person for mercy. To her, Alec was no different from Jarrod.
âLet her go,â Jarrod ordered coldly.
Alec, upset, argued: "Mr. Schultz, this woman has caused you a lot of pain. Please don't be soft on her again. "He has no heart."
Finally, Alec expressed his concern.
Jarrod had endured a hard life for the past five years, punishing himself for his past actions. Alec had hoped that Nicole's return would bring some improvement. But instead, she seemed determined to hurt Jarrod, showing no mercy.
Alec's intense hatred for Nicole was evident. He wouldn't think twice about ending his life if Jarrod ordered him to.
"I told you, let her go." Jarrod's tone brooked no argument.
Reluctantly, Alec obeyed.
On the floor, Nicole struggled to breathe, coughing uncontrollably.
Jarrod stepped forward and held out a hand to help her up.
But Nicole slapped her away, repulsed. "Don't act like you care!"
Still, Jarrod grabbed her hand and pulled her forcefully into his arms.
Nicole turned pale and protested, "What are you doing? "Let go of me."
Jarrod seemed unfazed, as if he was expecting her plan.
Then an unexpected visitor arrived. It was Roscoe, who had learned of Nicole's capture and had broken through, concerned for her safety.
Seeing Nicole struggling, Roscoe seemed ready to confront Jarrod, but Alec stopped him.
Having already fought off the guards, Roscoe was no match for Alec.
