Chapter 516

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

? ? ? ? ?

Sitting on the floor, Nicole slowly took out a key. It was the key that Alec always wore around his neck.

Since Jarrod was unconscious, Alec didn't pay attention to Nicole.

Nicole had seen Alec open Jarrod's study with her before Alec hung her around his neck again. He speculated that Jarrod's study might contain some secrets. Now he just needed a chance to escape.

Nicole spent the entire night dazed in that room.

When the door finally opened, it wasn't Alec, but one of the men in black.

"Miss Lawrence, you are free to go," said the man in black with great respect.

Stretching her aching limbs, Nicole slowly stood up and asked, "How is Mr. Schultz?"

The man in black informed him: "Mr. Schultz is now out of danger."

Nicole couldn't help but smile with satisfaction. She knew it. That madman had a formidable will to survive. Then he asked, "And Alec?"

"Mr. Schultz has ordered you to kneel in the yard as punishment," the man in black responded.

Nicole was surprised. He didn't expect Jarrod to punish Alec.

After all, Alec had helped Jarrod with a lot of dirty things over the years. Alec had always been loyal to Jarrod. Even in the Schultz Group, Alec was second in command.

Jarrod had never berated Alec in front of his subordinates for the sake of Alec's dignity. But for some reason, Alec was now being punished by Jarrod.

Although confused by the cause of Jarrod's punishment, Nicole saw it as a golden opportunity for herself. Alec was the only person who protected her in this villa.

Nicole deliberately stayed outside a little longer before returning to Jarrod's room.

Jarrod was resting with his eyes closed. The reopened wound on his body caused his thin lips to be chapped, and his face was as pale as a ghost.

Jarrod had a wound on his forehead. The scar was half the length of a little finger, and extended to his eyebrows. He looked terrible. But despite this, he was still as handsome as ever.

Even in college, Jarrod had been the target of many girls' pursuit. His family background, his appearance and everything around him were superior. Countless women were infatuated with him. However, he never bothered to show interest in them. I rejected them.

In reality, Nicole was one of those women. Back then, she was the one who chased Jarrod. At that moment, she was heartbroken for being abandoned. He didn't understand the reason for the sudden breakup.

Nicole only gave Jarrod a chance, but she didn't expect anything. She thought that she too would suffer the same fate as those other women.

After all, Jarrod was a prominent figure in his school. He was the president of the student council. He received all kinds of praise that made him shine like a golden statue.

But who would have thought that Jarrod would accept Nicole casually flirting with him?

Nicole could still remember it clearly. At that moment they were in the laboratory. He steeled himself and asked, "Jarrod, don't you have a girlfriend?"

Jarrod didn't say anything. He just looked at her without expression.

The atmosphere in the laboratory became uncomfortable.

But Nicole didn't give up. He smiled radiantly, held out his hand and said, "Hello, I'm your girlfriend."

Jarrod had his hands in his pockets. He stared at Nicole's hand, which was hanging in the air without holding it.

Nicole was about to withdraw her hand. But suddenly Jarrod grabbed her tightly and said, “Okay.” It was the only word he spoke.

The setting sun illuminated Jarrod's facial features, making him look extremely handsome.

At that moment, Nicole admitted that her heart had raced. But now he realized that the whole disaster was planted at that moment. And it had all been orchestrated by Jarrod. The sudden breakup announced by her boyfriend and their meeting were part of it. It was all a lie.

Jarrod was a real nutcase. Because of him, the entire Lawrence family was plunged into an unjust disaster, broken and finally destroyed. Her life, the stigma attached to it, the insults she had endured, and her family… She and her family were innocent.

Jarrod's actions had caused the death of the cheerful and smiling Nicole.

Now, only ruins remained in Nicole's heart. And the only memory he had was his hatred for Jarrod. Jarrod always reminded her of all the tragedies she and her family had suffered. To her, he was a beast who never cared about the suffering of others. It was absolutely unforgivable.

While Nicole was still immersed in memories of the past, Jarrod suddenly opened his eyes.

When Jarrod saw her staring at him, the corners of his lips lifted slightly. «Why are you looking at me like that? Do you still find me handsome?

That's when Nicole came to. "Yeah. "I still can't believe that someone as handsome as you could be so malicious."

Jarrod smiled. "I'll take that as a compliment."

Nicole didn't say anything anymore. He just ignored it.

“Time for my medicine,” Jarrod announced.

Nicole saw some pills on the nightstand. He knew that Jarrod hadn't fully recovered yet, so he still needed to take a lot of medication every day.

Nicole sat down expressionlessly, took the medicine and fed him.

When Jarrod was almost finished, she declared, "After you take your medicine, I'll get back to business."

The expression on Jarrod's face froze. "Are you going to leave me like this?"

Nicole said dissatisfiedly: “I have a job. I'm not a boss like you.

Jarrod couldn't help but smile weakly when he realized she was complaining. «You don't really need a job. Just come with me and I'll give you whatever you want.

Nicole smiled sarcastically and said mockingly: “Mr. Schultz, have you forgotten what happened when I accompanied you before? Do you want it to happen again?

Nicole's words reminded Jarrod of some unpleasant memories. His handsome face was immediately filled with embarrassment. He hastened to explain: "I didn't mean that."

Nicole was still smiling. «For me it is the same. "It doesn't matter."

Jarrod's eyes widened at this. He pursed his lips tightly.
