Chapter 506

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

? ? ? ? ?

It took a moment for Raegan to find her voice, raising her head to say, “You…”

In that instant, Mitchel's face came closer, his lips brushing the edge of Raegan's ear, his throat moving visibly. “Annis is up again,” he whispered.

Once again, the sound of a door echoed through the space.

Annis realized she had left the kitchen lights on and went outside to turn them off.

Mitchel brought his lips to Raegan's ear and his warm breath gently brushed against her earlobe, a silent gesture filled with clear intentions.

The warmth of his breath turned Raegan's cheeks a delicate shade of pink.

Mitchel leaned towards her and lightly brushed his lips against her ear, causing a soft tickle.

Raegan quickly put her hand over her mouth, almost screaming.

Did he just bite her?

When Annis closed the door to her room, Raegan still felt a tickle in her ear, staring at him, bewildered. "You…"

"What's happening?" Mitchel seemed completely relaxed, as if he hadn't meant to do it.

Raegan was speechless, her jaw hanging open. How could she ask him if he had bitten her? If not, wouldn't he risk being mocked for his arrogance?

Raegan pursed her lips, feeling her heart flutter with uncertainty.

“It doesn't matter,” Raegan finally said.

"What's the point of 'it doesn't matter'?" Mitchel stared at her.

"It's no big deal…"

Mitchel commented nonchalantly, "Your heart's a little racing, right?"

Raegan was silent. He pursed his lips, choosing to ignore it, thinking it was entirely his fault.

"Let's go upstairs," he suggested with a hint of annoyance.

When Raegan took a step, she immediately felt something was wrong with her foot, experiencing a sudden pain. It was as if he had accidentally twisted it.

Lost in thought, she stood up abruptly from the ground.

“Ah…” Raegan was surprised, her hand instinctively covering her mouth when she found herself already embraced by Mitchel.

"Have you hurt your ankle?" he asked.

«I think so, but I'm fine to walk, I can manage.

Before she could say another word, he was already picking her up and walking up the stairs.

Mitchel, with his long legs and light step, quickly made his way to the upstairs bedroom.

He gently set Raegan on the bed and continued taking off her shoes.

Raegan couldn't stop him in time. He held her foot and examined it closely.

Raegan stood still for a moment. He didn't seem to care at all...

"It's nothing serious," he reassured her. He knew his body's reactions. The discomfort would probably disappear in the morning.

However, Mitchel didn't seem convinced and asked, "Where do you keep the first aid kit?"

Raegan pointed to a drawer.

Mitchel grabbed the first aid kit and jumped onto the bed, resting her leg on his thigh.

Raegan's cheeks burned with embarrassment. The position they were in, with her leg resting on his, was more intimate than she preferred.

Beneath Raegan's calf was Mitchel's firm, taut thigh. As he lifted her skirt, he could feel the warmth of her skin through her thin pants.

Raegan's legs stiffened, not daring to move. I was afraid I would accidentally touch his private part.

The atmosphere was increasingly tense.

Raegan was having trouble breathing. Fortunately, Mitchel was still focused on his foot, oblivious to his blushing face.

Observing Mitchel's focused demeanor, Raegan suddenly realized that this wasn't the first time she had applied medicine to his foot. On each occasion, he had done it skillfully and effortlessly, without any aversion.

After the treatment, Mitchel focused on an acupuncture point on the ankle.

He determined that the sprain was not serious. With proper care, it would get better tomorrow.

Mitchel's unwavering gaze unsettled Raegan. "Are you finished?" he asked.

"Yeah". Mitchel bandaged his foot to protect it from dirt.

Mitchel should have let go of Raegan by now, but he couldn't bring himself to do so. Despite his penchant for cleanliness, his principles seemed to fade in her presence. He wanted to keep hold of her foot.

Once Mitchel released his grip, Raegan promptly ordered, “Please proceed to clean your hands.”

Mitchel laughed softly, finding it amusing that Raegan, instead of himself, was expressing revulsion, despite his lack of concern.

After a while, Mitchel returned from sanitizing his hands. Raegan told him, "You can sleep in my brother's room on the third level, but make sure you keep the noise to a minimum."

"Understood." Mitchel gently cleared his throat and added, "If I get any news..."

Raegan was quick to interject: “Alternatively, you can just rest here.”

Mitchel's gaze intensified. “Are you suggesting I spend the night here?”

"Yes, in case something happens regarding Nicole, I would prefer to be informed promptly," Raegan responded.

Although Mitchel had assured Nicole's well-being, the word "should" lacked definitive security. Given Jarrod's unpredictability in the past, Raegan couldn't rest easy. Plus, Jarrod was friends with Mitchel, and Mitchel could choose not to reveal anything unusual to him, in case something happened. Fundamentally, his lack of trust in Mitchel motivated his suggestion.

Mitchel noticed the skepticism in Raegan's eyes, feeling a pang of disappointment.

Raegan said, "Please bring the blanket here. If you get too close, I'll have to ask you to leave the bed.

Obediently, Mitchel took the blanket and placed it on the bed.

Between the two of them, Raegan placed a long pillow and instructed Mitchel to place his phone on the nightstand.
