Chapter 330

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

? ? ? ? ?

When Elin caught sight of Erick's cold and elegantly handsome face, she was taken aback. The last thing she expected was for Raegan to arrange for Erick to pick her up.

Putting out his cigarette, Erick greeted: "It's good to see you, Elin."

Nervously grabbing her luggage, Elin replied, "I'm glad to see you too, Erick."

The two exchange greetings with stoic expressions.

After the brief interaction, Erick impatiently adjusted his tie before helping Elin with her suitcase and putting it in the trunk.

He opened the passenger door and motioned for him to sit down.

“I actually prefer to sit in the back seat,” Elin said.

With the door open, Erick rested his hand on the door frame. He fixed his eyes on Elin, who was maintaining a stoic silence but wearing a somber expression.

Casting a quick glance at Erick, Elin calmly took her place in the passenger seat. She always seemed to give in to him without protest.

Once inside the car, they drove the entire way in complete silence, without saying a single word.

Elin's gaze was fixed on the hood of the car. Years of suffering at the hands of his former partner taught him to keep his feet in reality. She also understood that a man like Erick, who was far out of her reach, should not be part of her life. Erick, in the driver's seat, came from a distinguished family, in stark contrast to her, who felt like nothing more than a failure.

Elin's self-esteem had plummeted even further after her disastrous marriage, making her feel even less in Erick's presence.

Suddenly, Elin felt a sharp pain in her stomach. Every encounter with Erick seemed to fill Elin with a mixture of nervousness and embarrassment.

When they stopped at a red light, Erick reached into the car refrigerator and offered Elin a hot drink.

“Are you okay?” Erick asked when he noticed her discomfort.

«Thank you for caring, Dr. Foster. “I’m fine,” Elin responded formally and accepted the can.

His voice had a tone of distance.

«Don't call me that. Right now I am only a guest speaker, since I am focused on company affairs,” Erick corrected her.

“Understood, Mr. Foster,” Elin replied, using a different formal title.

This only seemed to irritate Erick even more.

“Elin, are you deliberately trying to upset me?” Erick asked sharply, fixing his gaze on her.

Elin seemed surprised by Erick's words. She lowered her gaze and appeared kind and submissive. "Of course not, Mr. Foster," she assured him.

Despite her refusal, Erick was convinced that she was acting deliberately.

Erick remembered a similar situation when he had introduced Dayton to Elin. She hadn't objected and had started dating Dayton.

Around this time, Dayton lured Erick into the scene and asked him if Erick would object to him marrying Elin.

Erick gave a neutral answer and Elin quickly accepted Dayton's proposal. They were married a few days later.

Erick had been deeply upset at the time, but he felt powerless to change anything. As he thought about it, a wave of anger welled up inside him.

In fact, when Dayton asked Erick's opinion, he responded, "I have no objection, but ultimately it's Elin's decision."

Unfortunately, neither Dayton nor Elin seemed to take his statement to heart.

“Call me whatever you want,” Erick said disdainfully.

With those words, Erick started the car again, and was now driving at a noticeably faster pace.

Elin, who had eaten little that day, turned pale with dizziness. However, he gritted his teeth and endured it silently.

When they reached their destination, Erick got out of the car and closed the door behind him. However, he did not forget to take Elin's suitcase out of the trunk.

Looking at Erick from behind, Elin felt a wave of confusion as she looked at his tall figure. Did Erick want to be addressed as in the past?

Contemplating this, Elin shook her head helplessly. She was no longer the naive girl she used to be. How could she, the daughter of a nanny, address Erick, the young master, in such a familiar way? Furthermore, as a divorced woman, she felt unworthy of someone like Erick.

At the villa, the Foster family had a hot pot dinner, and the atmosphere was lively as they gathered in the dining room.

Raegan insisted that Annis join them at the table, and Annis didn't object.

Having spent years around Raegan, Annis had noticed that Raegan was still as warm and enthusiastic as ever.

Elin was also comforted by Raegan's presence. Raegan seemed to possess a unique charm. Elin's feelings of inferiority disappeared whenever she was around Raegan.

So when Raegan invited her to join the studio, Elin immediately accepted. She was eager to adopt a more optimistic outlook and leave her past behind.

As the evening progressed and Raegan consumed some alcohol, her cheeks turned pink. She took Elin's arm and said, I wish Nell were here with us. "It's been so long since the three of us have been together."

Gently wiping the sweat from Raegan's forehead with a handkerchief, Elin replied quietly, "Didn't Nell mention that she would be back next week?"

Raegan, visibly moved, replied: "I can't wait to see it. I hope that the three of us will always be together, until the end of the world.

Elin helped Raegan to the upstairs bedroom and prepared to take a shower before they settled in for the night. When Janey saw Elin, she expressed her desire to chat before sleeping together.

Finally, the three of them ended up sharing the same room for the night. During this time, Raegan struck up a heartfelt conversation with Elin, revealing her recent encounter with Mitchel, who she insisted was her husband.

Additionally, Raegan confided in Elin about the disturbing experience she had with Mitchel. The hickey marks visible on Raegan's body were undeniable proof of her ordeal.

Raegan had convinced Janey that the marks were the result of an insect bite, but Elin wasn't buying that story.

With a mixture of anxiety and anguish, Raegan related: “It was really scary. His behavior was so abrupt and forceful… And it was painful.
