Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 1662:

Rhett smiled. “You'd be surprised. “I’m actually pretty clumsy with everyday things.”

"You're always joking, Mr. Bates," said the nurse lightly, smiling.

Rhett had a way with words, making the nurse smile with his playful banter.

With great interest in his surroundings, Rhett asked, "What's going on there? I was stopped before I could get through."

“The girl?” the nurse replied as she continued to tend to Rhett's wound.

«Her family was murdered, leaving her with selective mutism. "She hadn't said a word until someone she trusted brought her out of silence."

Rhett's expression softened. “A little girl? “She must have been terrified.”

“Of course,” the nurse agreed. “She witnessed a family member being stabbed multiple times. “It would traumatize anyone.”

“Such tragic cases… Finding the culprit would at least serve to close the case,” Rhett commented solemnly.

“I doubt it,” the nurse sighed.

"The girl was unable to provide any useful clues. Her father shielded her from seeing anything. She had nothing new to tell the police. I watched the officer leave, sighing deeply."

This nurse was especially knowledgeable because she regularly changed Callie's bandages.

Rhett tried to continue, but another nurse interrupted him. “Julia, why are you still here? We’re overwhelmed.”

“Okay, I’ll be right there,” Julia replied, finishing bandaging Rhett.

Rhett expressed his gratitude, and Julia, blushing, replied, "You're welcome."

As Rhett walked away, the head nurse warned Julia, “Be careful with your words. You shouldn’t talk about that case.”

"I have not shared anything confidential. Only what is already in the public domain," Julia lied.

"Be careful. You don't want to get into trouble," the head nurse advised her.

“I understand,” Julia replied quickly.

"You're just going by her looks," the head nurse mocked.

Julia laughed softly. “Why would someone like him, a top-notch lawyer, notice me? “I just think he’s very nice.”

Indeed, Rhett had a warm and firm presence.

Meanwhile, after Nicole settled back into the car, Jarrod instructed the driver to get going. Instead of heading to the hospital, they took the route toward Nicole's current residence.

Exhausted from the day's events, Nicole quickly fell asleep in the back seat.

As he slept, his head began to nod, unable to maintain a steady posture. The driver, noticing his discomfort, slowed down to smooth out the ride, but the car continued to shake slightly on a bumpy stretch of road.

Just as Nicole's head began to lurch to the side, Jarrod grabbed her with a firm hand. He gently guided her onto his shoulder, giving her a more comfortable position to continue sleeping.

When they arrived at her residence, Jarrod preferred not to wake her. However, sleeping in the car was not restorative, and Nicole soon woke up.
