Chapter 1625

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 1625:

? ? ? ? ?

It was Rhett. Nicole was taken back, never expecting to meet him, especially in such an awkward situation.

Nicole quickly recounted her order with the previous driver.

Rhett reacted with indignation. “That driver went completely over the line, abandoning you on the side of the road, downright dangerous.”

He quickly got out of his vehicle and opened the passenger door for her. “Miss Lawrence, please come in.” I'll take you home. “It’s too late to wait here for another taxi.”

After a moment's thought, Nicole accepted Rhett's offer and got into her car.

“It's quite a coincidence, Miss Lawrence. I had just finished work and here you are,” Rhett said, still with a hint of surprise in his voice.

“Quite a coincidence indeed. And by the way, I haven't even thanked you for the other day, Mr. Bates,” Nicole said, remembering how Rhett had intervened when she was faced with the danger posed by Doreen.

At that critical moment, Rhett had pounced on her, heedless of his own safety. Although Jarrod had ultimately intervened and saved Nicole, Rhett's willingness to help had not gone unnoticed.

Furthermore, Rhett's continued assistance in the ongoing litigation had been invaluable.

“You don't need to thank me, Miss Lawrence. We've known each other for a long time and we've worked together a lot. We’re kind of friends,” Rhett replied, his voice warm and genuinely humble.

Rhett's always kind and gentle demeanor left Nicole wondering from time to time if there was anything that could truly upset her composure.

“Still, I think I owe you a proper thank you,” Nicole commented, determined to acknowledge his efforts.

“So, could you take me out to lunch sometime?” Rhett suggested lightly.

“Sure,” Nicole replied, her smile reflecting her gratitude.

Assuming Nicole was headed home, Rhett began driving in that direction, familiar with the route from previous visits.

However, as they traveled, he couldn't help but notice Nicole's complexion growing increasingly pale. "Miss Lawrence, are you feeling unwell?" he asked worriedly.

“A little,” Nicole admitted weakly. She had been looking forward to resting at home, but her stomach ache was getting worse and her face was getting paler.

Recognizing the urgency, Rhett did not hesitate. He quickly turned the car around and headed straight to the hospital, prioritizing his immediate need for medical attention.

Upon arrival at the hospital, Nicole was quickly placed in a wheelchair and taken away for examination.

Rhett remained by his side throughout the order. The medical team quickly diagnosed her with abdominal cramps, likely exacerbated by the cold.

Abdominal pain had led Nicole to mistakenly believe the problem was in her stomach.

The doctor who attended her gave her a saline solution appropriate for pregnant women and informed Rhett about Nicole's care, mistaking him for a family member due to his attentive presence.

Rhett listened attentively, nodding as he absorbed the instructions, his demeanor reflecting his serious commitment to Nicole's well-being.

I have respected her privacy and refrained from inquiring into the details of her pregnancy, which greatly highlighted Nicole. Any questions about it could have created an awkward situation, especially since Rhett was well aware of her complicated relationship with Jarrod.
