Chapter 1610

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 1610:

? ? ? ? ?

How could Hallie accept this? She had her roots in the country and, although she would not lack money abroad, she was having a hard time adjusting to the new environment.

The main problem was practical: there were many richer people than her elsewhere. Abroad she would not have the same authority over people, and she knew that she and Doreen could be mistreated. Who would want that?

But Jarrod ignored Hallie's concerns, even handling the divorce proceedings on Doreen's behalf. Given the problems with the Watts Group, Jarrod acted responsibly by initiating the divorce for Doreen.

Still, the decision to send Doreen abroad after the divorce was a tough one for Hallie.

Nicole listened to Hallie's rant with a hint of amusement. "You're wrong, ma'am. Your daughter was the one who assaulted me, not the other way around. If it were the other way around, I would be the one arrested," she replied coldly.

But Hallie refused to acknowledge Nicole's reasonable words and shouted angrily: "You keep trying to ruin my dear daughter! If you hadn't seduced my husband, she wouldn't have attacked you! You are a shameless woman, completely oblivious to your own misfortune, devoid of any conscience!"

Hallie continued to verbally attack Nicole as if she truly believed Nicole was as shameless as she claimed.

Nicole reached her limit and retort, “Can you prove anything between Roscoe and I? We've been nothing but clean and innocent, with no improper behavior whatsoever. Where is your proof of this alleged seduction?”

After Roscoe and Doreen got married, Nicole had sensed that something was wrong. She had only made discreet inquiries without reaching out to Roscoe. Furthermore, Roscoe had suffered memory loss at the time and did not recognize her.

Before the wedding, Doreen was the last to arrive. Even before Doreen showed up, the bond between Roscoe and Nicole had already been firmly established.

Hallie kept making baseless accusations, but she still stood by her claims, and now she was speaking out in front of Nicole's apartment complex.

“You still deny it? You must be the one who talked Roscoe out of being with Doreen! Why else would he be so indifferent to a girl as pretty as Doreen? It’s your fault for seducing Roscoe and making him keep himself to you.”

"Shame on you! You seduced Roscoe and then went after my nephew, Jarrod. Jarrod is Doreen's uncle! You have no morals or shame at all!"

As Doreen's mother spoke, her agitation increased and she began waving her arms, shouting to passersby: "Hey, everyone, come and see this shameless woman!"

Hallie was being unreasonable and causing a scene, completely out of character.

Onlookers, unaware of the real situation, mistakenly thought that Nicole was the cause of a family dispute.

The neighborhood was filled with elderly people who loved drama and quickly gathered around Nicole, pointing fingers at her.

Hallie was glad of this, for she had come expressly to degrade Nicole. She shouted to the crowd: "Watch your husbands! Who knows if this woman will try to entice them?"

Nicole, increasingly pale with indignation, replied: "Be careful with your accusations. If you continue with this defamation, I will take legal action."

When Nicole tried to call the police, her efforts were thwarted when Hallie snatched the phone from her hand, eager only to embarrass her.

Nicole's phone fell to the floor. As Hallie pushed her, Nicole, standing on the steps, instinctively cradled her belly.
