Chapter 1593

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 1593:

? ? ? ? ?

Nicole contemplated, preferring lasting pain to passing discomfort. Resolute, she resolved not to waver from the election. Experiencing the agony of losing a child once was enough. Furthermore, she doubted her ability to protect this child. It seemed preferable to protect the child from a world of suffering than to subject it to prolonged pain.

Nicole bought a bottle of water and prepared to swallow the pills. Just then, her phone range. It was Rhett, the lawyer who had previously assisted her in the custody battle over Austin.

“Miss Lawrence, I hear you’re looking for legal representation for a visitation rights case,” Rhett asked frankly.

Nicole wasn't surprised that he knew. Legal professionals maintained extensive networks, and news of her case probably circulated in their circles. After all, Jarrod had explicitly said that his case was off-limits, making his motives clear. That was why so many firms had turned her down.

“Yes, Mr. Bates,” Nicole replied, although her expectations were low. She was keen not to overwhelm Rhett. After the previous custody battle, Rhett's firm had come under scrutiny, no doubt orchestrated by Jarrod. Rhett had since moved overseas, so he seemed unable to help from a distance.

“How’s the search going?” Rhett asked, his voice tinged with concern.

“I’m still looking, but thanks for asking,” Nicole replied.

"Miss Lawrence, if a suitable candidate has not been found, would you consider allowing me to take charge?"

Nicole was taken back. She thought she had misheard and sought clarification. “What did you say, Mr. Bates?”

"I'm currently back in the country. Would you like me to take care of your case?"

Rhett explained. “I regret that I didn't win your previous case. However, for visitation rights, I am confident. Remember the Morris Group divorce and custody case? I handled it and the outcome was very favorable. Custody battles are difficult, but visitation rights? “I can assure you that there will be no problem.”

Nicole felt embarrassed. “I don't want to impose myself, Mr. Bates. I still feel guilty about the problems you had earlier because of me…”

“Please, Ms. Lawrence. The firm's problems were due to internal errors. Your case had nothing to do with them,” Rhett reassured her warmly.

Even though Rhett cleared up the past incident, Nicole was still convinced of Jarrod's involvement. Otherwise, it seemed like too much of a coincidence. Rhett's firm had come under scrutiny shortly after accepting her case.

Nicole hadn't anticipated that Rhett would still be willing to help her. Elated, she wanted his help, despite the potential inconveniences. After all, no other firm would take her case.

Furthermore, Nicole didn't want to upset Raegan again. Since Jarrod and Mitchel were close friends, repeatedly seeking Raegan's help would put her in a difficult situation, which could strain their bond. Introduced by Raegan, Rhett was considered reliable.

"If you don't mind, Mr. Bates, I'd appreciate your help," Nicole said.

"Miss Lawrence, I'm relieved that you're not upset with me for not winning the last case," Rhett replied politely.

“How could I be? It wasn't your fault, Mr. Bates. The opposition was too thorough,” Nicole was quick to say. Jarrod had set her up earlier. No matter how skilled the lawyer was, failure was inevitable.

“I'm glad you understand, Ms. Lawrence. Let's schedule a meeting. When is it convenient for you?”

"Whenever it suits you," Nicole said, delighted.

After ending the call, Nicole looked at the medication in her hand, deliberating for a few moments before putting it back in her bag. Worried about the possible side effects of immediate consumption, she worried about possible future complications. It was wise to wait before taking the medication.
