Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 1589:

It would also discourage other investors and partners from hastily terminating their agreements with Roscoe, opting instead to watch the results. This would effectively solve the Watts Group's liquidity problems, while giving Roscoe more time to raise funding.

“Thank you, Raegan,” Nicole said gratefully.

"There's no need to thank me. Mitchell is impartial and his support was not based solely on my recommendation. Roscoe's project has merit."

Raegan clarified: “I have reviewed the project, and it is commendable. Profit is not Roscoe’s only goal. He aims to improve accessibility for mid-level hospitals to expensive medical equipment sourced from overseas, ultimately reducing costs for patients.

It is a departure from the Watts Group's previous approach and charts a new course with great potential. Given his medical background, he has invaluable experience in this field. The Dixon Group's investment also has a public welfare aspect.

Mitchel wouldn't have considered it if the other party prioritized profits over social impact. Roscoe doesn't fit that profile."

"Yes, it isn't," Nicole said.

No one understood this reality better than Nicole. Roscoe aspired to become a doctor without borders, helping as many people in need as possible. Unfortunately, he had been caught up in this mess because of her. She felt sorry, but helpless, as he was too stubborn.

While talking to Raegan, Nicole absentmindedly uncovered a jar of blueberry jam on the table and spread it on a slice of toast. However, when she caught the scent of blueberries, Nicole was overcome with a wave of nausea. Trying to suppress it, she ended up vomiting several times.

Raegan, alerted by the disturbance, asked, “What’s wrong, Nicole?”

“It's nothing. My stomach is a little acidic,” Nicole replied. She examined the jar of blueberry jam and noticed that it had not expired and did not give off any bad smells. However, inexplicably, she found herself unable to tolerate the smell.

After putting the jar back in the cupboard, Nicole heard Raegan's unexpected comment. "You scared me. I had a feeling you might be pregnant again."

“That's impossible,” Nicole said.

Raegan explained: “During my initial pregnancy, I felt fine. However, later on, I became incredibly sensitive. The slightest smell would make me nauseous. Fortunately, this subsided after four months.”

Nicole's heart raced at the mere mention of pregnancy. Pregnant? How could that even be conceivable? She and Jarrod…

Thinking back carefully, Nicole realized that there had been just one occasion when she and Jarrod had accidentally compromised the condom. But he hadn't stopped…

Nicole took a deep breath, trying to calm her agitation. Given her current fragile physique, how was she going to conceive? It was impossible.

After ending the call, Nicole examined the date on her phone. Given her history of irregular menstrual cycles, she dismissed this month's delay as inconsequential. However…

Nicole bought a pregnancy test online and awaited its arrival with a knot of apprehension.

In the office of the chairman of the Schultz Group, an assistant approached Jarrod deferentially. “Mr. Schultz, Mr. Watts has entered into an investment agreement with the chairman of the Dixon Group. If this continues, our ability to intervene in Mr. Watts' project will be limited. Should we ask Mr. Dixon for clarification?”
