Chapter 1550
Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook
Chapter 1550:
? ? ? ? ?
On her way out of Witch Valley, Nicole had rescued a porcelain jar abandoned by the boss, who was carrying several bottles of pills for her.
In addition to what she had given Roscoe, Nicole had quickly obtained an additional bottle of pills. Both she and Roscoe had consumed some of the contents.
Although she felt fine physically, she had not been medically evaluated. Concerned about possible side effects, she decided not to give Austin any of the pills until she had more information.
She chose to watch the situation for a little longer and eventually fell fast asleep next to Austin.
The next morning, Nicole woke up late, having slept more deeply than she had in a long time, the past few days of relentless anxiety having worn her down.
The comfort of Austin's nearness had contributed to his deep sleep.
When Nicole woke up, Austin had already eaten and left for his workout with the family doctor.
As she walked down the stairs, a maid approached Nicole to see if she wanted to have breakfast.
Nicole responded by asking for whatever was available.
When the maid returned with their food, Nicole asked, âIs my husband back yet?â
The maid replied with a nod: "No, madam, he has not returned."
Nicole remained silent, assuming Alec was still unconscious.
It was unusual for Nicole to ask for Jarrod, which the maid noticed. Hesitating, the maid said, âMaâam, would you please call Mr. Schultz?â
âNo need,â Nicole said, dismissing the idea with a wave of her hand. Jarrod would be in the hospital or busy with his work right now. Even if she extended her hand, what could she say to him? It seemed like he had already made up his mind, and his indifference was like a tight knot that no amount of explanation could loosen.
After dinner, Nicole spent some time with Austin before heading to the hospital.
This morning, Nicole received a text from Roscoe, letting her know that he had returned safely. It seemed that Jarrod had kept his word and had not caused Roscoe any trouble.
Roscoe was at the hospital for a complete check-up.
He had also urged Nicole to undergo testing, concerned about possible side effects from the pill's untested ingredients.
When Nicole arrived at the hospital, she took the tests first. The results, however, would not be ready for several days. Since she was already there, she decided to visit Alec.
As Nicole approached Alec's living room, the security guards recognized her. âAre you here to see Alec?â one asked politely.
âYes,â Nicole replies. âIs Alec resting?â
âHe might be awake. Let me check,â one of the guards said, approaching the door.
Nicole stopped him. âNo need. âIâll go in myself.â
Nicole knocked on the door without getting a response. Assuming Alec was asleep, she started to walk away when a disturbing noise coming from inside the room caught her attention.
Alarmed, Nicole burst through the door and discovered Alec on the floor, searching frantically for something. Nearby, she saw a knife.
